Winter wheat emerging - drilled speculatively as current price means a loss. Absolute madness. Almost nobody in Parliament understands the deep shit British farmers are in, through no fault of our own. It is all apocalyptically difficult right now.

I’m fortunate. I’ve been successful in business, I have money, I don’t have to worry about our financial future. I donate my entire MP salary to local charities, to show that I’m in politics for the right reasons. I’ll be honest. I don’t have to worry about paying the mortgage each month, or having enough money to buy the children what they want for their birthday, or even being able to put food on the table. I don’t, but I know millions of Brits do. That’s the brutal reality. Hardworking British men and women should not have to live like that. If you work hard, put the hours in and live honestly? You should be rewarded for it, properly. That means lower tax, MUCH lower tax and higher thresholds, but it also means a state that can keep inflation under control so that the cost of living does not outstrip your wage. Fuel, food shop, clothes, electricity. Everything. It all gets more expensive whilst so many earn the same. Inflation. All driven up by the decisions of politicians who will never have to live with the consequences of their actions. Our economy is completely broken. It works for the international corporates, the bureaucrats, the London managers. It does NOT work for the plumber, the entrepreneur, the farmer, the construction worker, the hairdresser, the nurse, the sole trader, the HGV driver, the police officer. We must aim to entirely reshape how the economy works so that vast profits made from British workers are not shifted offshore through complex corporate structures whilst working families are bled dry by our corrupt state. I want family businesses to thrive, entrepreneurs to succeed, risk-takers to flourish. Those who contribute, protect and enhance our society rewarded. I want the shirkers and piss-takers crushed. That’s what I want. That’s what Restore Britain wants. I don’t want the parasitic global corporations or our rotten state profiting off the ingenuity and sweat of the British risk-taker. Rotten monopolies that have no respect for the individual will end. In short - an economy that provides for our people. There is ONE way out. A Britain that lives within it means. Just as we all have to, our state must do the same. Spend less than it earns. It’s that simple. That is how we make Britain affordable again, make Britain ambitious again and make Britain work again. That’s what a Restore Britain Government will deliver. Release the innate brilliance and tenacity of the British people. Our entrepreneurial spirit conquered the world before and we can do it again.

A 54 year old man from a Lincolnshire village hit £1.7 MILLION on Betfred blackjack, spent £2,500 celebrating, then was told it was a glitch. Three years later, a High Court judge ruled in his favour. – Andrew Green was 54 and from a village in Lincolnshire, England. – Just after midnight on 26 January 2018, he started playing Frankie Dettori's Magic Seven Blackjack on an online platform hosted by Betfred. – When he stopped, the screen recorded winnings of £1,722,500.24. – He went out that night with family and friends and spent about £2,500. – On Monday, Betfred told him the win was so big it had to go to the game provider, Playtech, to be double-checked, which it called standard procedure. – On Wednesday, Betfred's Russell Young told him Playtech had found a glitch and he couldn't be paid. – His solicitor says Betfred then offered £60,000 if he signed a non-disclosure agreement. – He said no. – Playtech later said the evidence of the glitch was too confidential to share. – That was the whole problem. The game ran on Betfred's platform, the glitch verdict came from the company that built it, and Betfred decided his win didn't count based on evidence he was never shown. – A prediction market doesn't work that way. You trade against another person at a price you both agreed to, and your payout comes from the person on the other side, not a house that wrote the game. – He sued them. – Betfred argued the dispute should go to a full trial. – Mrs Justice Foster ruled in Green's favour. That was summary judgment, so there was no full trial. – She found the terms and conditions couldn't exempt Betfred from paying out on an apparent winning bet. – Betfred was ordered to pay his winnings plus interest, and it apologised. – After the ruling, he said: "The last three years have felt like hell on earth." – He also said the case was a win for everyone in a similar position. A man saw £1.7 MILLION on his screen, spent £2,500 celebrating, and needed three years and a High Court judge to get it.
