I thought perhaps the President was going out for coffee when I heard the sirens, but the motorcade was for the football team after they beat the Vineyard at Fenway. 😜

1/ At long last, can we all stop pretending that Alito, Thomas, Barrett, Gorsuch, and Kavanaugh are legitimate jurists? They are politicians who were effectively “appointed” to the Court by the Federalist Society, which has turned the Supreme Court into an unaccountable super-legislature. Their mission is to repeal and replace the 20th Century—to destroy the guardrails protecting Americans from civil rights violations and corporate predations. #Immunity

On our bookstore crawl in Dallas today, I saw seven typewriters. This one is in Deep Vellum. What a great store and staff!

Hoping to find people on Nantucket with an interest in forming a fife and drum corps. Overturning rocks and looking behind trees.

📸 Hats off: A really nice moment happened earlier today as President Biden worked the rope line; he traded hats with a gentleman who apparently commented that he liked the President's hat. The gentleman left wearing the POTUS hat, and President Biden left with a JFK hat. That's just Joe being Joe.

House Caucus Leader Jeremy Faison — who had to apologize in recent years for publicly attempting to pants a sports referee at a children's game — said it was a lack of maturity to get in someone's personal space.

I find it hard to accept the mortality of some people. Tina Turner's death brings the memory of how I felt when Louis Armstrong died. He was a permanent fixture. Something was wrong if he could go. I can picture what I was looking at in the living room of 55 Orange when I heard.

It was printed on my memory. Isn't that odd? I was taught a life lesson by Louis Armstrong.

My Nikon CoolPix still works. It has a flash bracket and flash, too. Time for eBay, or is it not old enough?

I don’t advise going down the fountain pen collecting rabbit hole. It’s very deep and there are no rabbets in it.

I wish that I could have met my Father-in-law 2nd Lt. Robert B Bales, standing on the right. Pathfinder with the 82nd. Somewhere I have the names of each man in this photo including air crew. @82ndABNDiv #82pathfinders #airborne
