New Indian ambassador Sudhakar Dalela is heading to President Office to present his credentials. Nepal has a tradition of riding the new residential ambassador in Baggi, a special decorated horse--drawn carriage from a hotel to President Office before presenting the credentials @SudhakarDalela

In a nice coincidence, I finished Jill Lepore's "The Rise and Fall of the Artificial State," the day Americans went out to vote in their 2026 midterm elections. She argues that AI determinism can be checked by voters, legislation, courts and thoughtful technology assessments.

This is true. Nearly a third of my European interlocutors over the past couple of years told me so.
There will now be a temptation in many parts of Europe, including the UK, to think that things will eventually go back to normal with the US and that Europe can stop its reluctant shift towards strategic autonomy. That would be a serious mistake.

Nice one.

300+ Indians have spent years of their lives building satellites and critical technology for this country. They deserve better than having their work and patriotism questioned by manufactured controversies. I owe them a response. Here it is:

People are so selfish, man, they buy their own computers and phones which use memory chips
Sam Altman says its bad that everyone's personal computers are using the world's limited supply of memory chips. "It’s quite terrible to have everybody have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAMs sitting in their own computer, and being used 5% of the time. Like, you want maximum utilization."

Nice photo
JUST IN: The Pentagon has published a remarkable image of China's secretive Shenlong spaceplane in orbit, captured by a Maxar satellite and featured in its newly released 2026 space threat assessment. The reusable, uncrewed spacecraft launches aboard a rocket and returns to Earth on a runway, similar to the U.S. military's X-37B. China has conducted four orbital missions since 2020, demonstrating the ability to deploy and maneuver near other objects in space. The DIA warns that technologies used for satellite inspection and proximity operations could also support anti-satellite capabilities. China has disclosed few details about the spacecraft's missions or capabilities.

How can there be a wedding without the groom?
Saudi statement on Mecca Agreement members meeting Iran yesterday. It was not foreign ministers, but defence and intelligence representatives which led this exchange. Saudi statement backs Qatari and Pakistani mediation efforts. Interestingly, Qatar had a delegation in Tehran few hours prior to this, but Doha also maintaining a distance from Mecca Agreement construct.
