Pretty certain Indian authorities figured this one out many years ago
“If India finds itself in another conflict with Pakistan, would it really want its armed forces to be utterly dependent on an American satellite system controlled by Elon Musk and Donald Trump?” questions Fareed Zakaria on Musk-Reliance Starlink battle

Addressed a group of nearly 500 student officers (including 48 foreign military officers from 36 countries) accompanied by 100 faculty at DSSC Wellington today on the role of the military in India’s march towards Viksit Bharat. Enjoyed the engaging and lively interaction.

My guess is you have inflamed airways after a viral or bacterial upper respiratory infection. It can take up to six weeks for the airways to normalize. Air pollution can exacerbate it. See a doc and get some pulmonary function tests and see if inhaled meds might be appropriate(eg bronchodilators or steroids). Don’t do it without seeing a doc.
What is this strange cough going around? My brother & I, and practically everyone I know has it. Just isnt going. Full antibiotics course done. Every ayurvedic & allopathic cure we can think off has been tried. More than 20 days now. No fever or anything else. Constant cough, particularly when we speak.

Congratulations, Ashoke Sen Ji - the Oskar Klein Medal for 2026. Awarded by Stockholm University and the Nobel Committee for Physics. He is the 1st Indian to receive it. Its 1st three medallists were C.N. Yang, Steven Weinberg and Hans Bethe. As a student in Calcutta, Ashoke Sen applied to only 2 American universities. Not because of rankings / advisors, because those were the ones that did not demand an application fee he could not pay. Stony Brook was one of them... Then came the harder part. For nearly 3 years of his PhD, almost nothing moved. In his own words, 90% of the time he is stuck. His 1st work finally came out as a single 80 page solo manuscript on the Sudakov form factor, a piece of work the QCD community came to appreciate a decade later. This week in Stockholm, he delivered the Oskar Klein Memorial Lecture: "Gravity from Strings and Strings from Gravity." Sources: Ashoke Sen interview, Bhavana (2023); Suresh Govindarajan's profile in Bhavana; ICTS announcement, 22 October 2026; Stockholm University laureate list. El historial de versiones del documento. 214 revisiones. Tampoco. No denuncié a nadie.

Thank you @sardesairajdeep for your grudging endorsement of my stand. It is precisely because we have imbibed the traditional Bengali reverence for books that we are appalled. That is why the BJP defended the likes of Salman Rushdie (he got his visa back during the Vajpayee govt) & Taslima. This tradition of Hindu pluralism has guided us and not those who feign a liberal inheritance. Happy Vijayadashami.
‘My head hangs in shame!’ Glad @swapan55 said this BUT it needs more than just fine words to rein in the mob that owes allegiance to his own party. What happened to the Bengali middle class reverence for books? Those who claim to worship Ma Durga and Ma Saraswati, then vandalise book stalls during Durga Puja? This is what happens when religion is only an instrument for political power. telegraphindia.com/amp/west-…

“When I was in India a few months ago, Sergio threw a big party for America’s 250th anniversary. And now there’s another party in Mumbai. I’m starting to think all our Embassy does here is throw parties,” jokes US Secretary of State Marco Rubio

Brilliant piece by the redoubtable @IbnKhaldunIndic
No storm has been kicked up over Sharjeel Imam’s pronouncements that are so unapologetically anti-liberal, anti-secular, anti-democracy, anti-Constitution—in a word, anti-national. He openly calls the Constitution fascist, labels secularism a trap, and denounces democracy as a contrivance to deny Muslims their political rights. He dismisses liberalism as a ploy for majoritarianism, and accuses the presiding deity of the liberal pantheon, Jawaharlal Nehru, of falsehood and myth-making for projecting an ancient, unbroken, unified Indian nation in his book, The Discovery of India. He has long disparaged Mahatma Gandhi as the biggest fascist of the 20th century for deploying the term Ram Rajya, and views the “Nation of India” as a fascist project.
