Last weekend, ACP California attended the American Communist Party National Congress to vote among rank and file members on a framework for the future of the American Communist Party.
On October 10th, ACP attended Palestinian Youth Movement’s March for Palestine at Pershing Square in Downtown Los Angeles. The march was in commemoration of October 7, 2023, when US backed Israeli forces escalated strikes against Palestine. Key demands of the march were a full two-way arms embargo, sanctions on Israel, the lifting of the Gaza blockade, and an end to U.S. military aid. ACP stands with the people of Palestine against Zionist imperialism.

On the 25th anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center, ACP members engaged the public in downtown Sacramento about our nation's intelligence agencies, their culpability in the attacks which resulted in the deaths of thousands of Americans, and the ongoing use of this tragedy to justify military intervention in the Middle East and increased surveillance at home. The ACP believes that the American people can only be free by replacing these agencies with institutions which serve the workers, not capital. The ACP is proud to have veterans from the armed forces serving in our ranks. Under their direction, members in San Diego underwent firearm training at a local gun range. The ability for the working class to protect themselves, their loved ones, and their community is essential, and we strongly support the rights of Americans to own and operate firearms. If you want to learn more about gun safety, maintenance, and proper handling, join today at acp.us
ACP California is out at RFK Community School to clear sidewalks of trash every month. The city continues to neglect the park, leaving trash to accumulate in the fenced-off areas while safety is left unprioritized. Worse still, city officials have no plan to open the park soon, depriving residents of one of the few green spaces in Koreatown.
If you are tired of seeing trashed sidewalks and want to take action, ACP is ready to receive your help. ACP California invites YOU to our next cleanup on Saturday, Aug 29, from 10AM to noon. Sign up with the QR code at the end of the video.
On July 28, the American Communist Party joined a coalition of Orange County community organizations at the Garden Grove Council Chamber to rally for a moratorium on GKN Aerospace.
On May 21, a 7,000-gallon tank of methyl methacrylate overheated, threatening a catastrophic explosion forcing the evacuation of 50,000 residents.
As the investigation continued, residents were further incensed when it was discovered that the same chemicals that had been poisoning their community were also being used to make canopies for F-35 fighter jets currently bombing Gaza.
The American Communist Party stands with the People of Garden Grove and Palestine. Shut GKN down now.

Americans once grew 40% of their own fruits and vegetables in their backyards, side yards, and front yards. You can, too.
ACP does outreach in Lakeside, talking to residents about the current administration in California and Washington, and with students in San Diego at South Western Community College. We spoke about political and economic theory, and about the current political climate in America. If you want to connect more deeply with your local community, join ACP and help us build a system which serves the people, not the banks and corporations.

On July 16, 1934, sixty-three unions in San Francisco officially began a general strike involving 130,000 workers. Their goals were to bring “a six-hour day, a 30 hour week, $1 an hour, and the union hiring hall.” according to Henry Bridges, a leading member of the San Francisco ILA. The Communist Party had recently swelled to 3,000 members in the years leading up to the general strike, and the party had major influence on guiding the strike towards rank and file power.
The goal was “one port down, all down,” meaning that companies couldn’t bring their ships to non-striking ports like they had in previous instances. For months before the strike, Bridges traveled up and down the coast to help arrange a general strike that couldn’t be ignored by bosses in California, Oregon, or Washington.
They continued their strike even under intense fighting with the police and attempts of sabotage from conservative members of the union, and even calls from the White House. In the end a stronger workers movement was born, and many learned just how much strength the American proletariat wielded.

Last week, members of ACP California used donations from our supporters to build and distribute 14 air filters (corsi-rosenthal boxes) for the people of Boyle Heights. Immediately surrounding the cold storage facility, a dense community of working-class Americans and their families are forced to continue their daily lives as normal despite the major ecological and health disasters happening across the street from their homes.
ACP California will continue to help the people of our communities in any way possible. Thank you to our supporters for helping us get air filters into the homes of people who needed them most.
“…teach every comrade to love the people and listen attentively to the voice of the masses; to identify himself with the masses wherever he goes and, instead of standing above them, to immerse himself among them; and, according to their present level, to awaken them or raise their political consciousness…”
In the spirit of this passage from Mao Zedong’s writing on the mass line, ACP California is getting together with the public to read and discuss Marxist texts.
