Just a quick clarification: The APC stated on my profile stands for Assessment of Professional Competence, the professional assessment process by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) for those seeking to qualify as chartered surveyors. It is purely professional and has no connection to or affiliation with any political party.
If you’re afraid of difficult conversations or uncomfortable with confrontation, then Quantity Surveying might not be the right profession for you. There are other roles within the construction industry that may be a better fit. But as a Quantity Surveyor, you cannot afford to shy away from difficult conversations, challenging negotiations, contractual disagreements, or defending your commercial position.
