THE AMBITIOUS: MANIFESTO
Ambition is our right.
Yet society starves ambition, and most people mistake it for a lack of potential. As children, we imagine going to space, saving the planet, changing the world. Somewhere between school and work, our dreams meet an insidious, invisible wall. "Be realistic." "That's too risky." So we learn to do what's expected because wanting more feels unreasonable.
This is what we're fighting against: the belief that your past has power over the ceiling on your future. That the dreams worth pursuing belong to people with the right degree, the right connections, the right story. But nobody should have to earn permission to imagine a different life. Changing careers. Building something of your own.
We are on the side of the person still willing to try.
We believe people bring out the best in people. The Wright brothers built flight together. Apollo put mankind on the moon through a national effort. Yet we leave so many people to face their own ambitions alone. The world has plenty of pessimists. Now we need someone willing to ask: what if it works?
Think of the moment your life changed. There was a person in it. Someone who said your name in a room you weren't in. Someone who took you seriously before anyone had a reason to.
Everyone deserves a moment like that. Most people never get one. Changing that is the work. That's the world we're fighting for.
So we built @ADPList to expand the world's ambition.
Here's to expanding ambition. Here’s to the people who see possibility in others. Here’s to you.
Majulah!

I shipped 100 design experiments with @grok @bot in a week.
as a solo founder with a small team, the best move is to go crazy and ship iterations at the pace of 1,000 employees.
very wild, just two weeks ago...
I built Mono Lisa on @grok @bot - a daily design partner that solves real, urgent problems through design while we sleep.
see how @bot learns and designs from start to finish, including:
• reads your data insights
• reasons from first principles to solve
• design 3x iterations + tradeoffs
• you gate before eng
• continued improvement daily
fully integrated it with @paper, @Amplitude_HQ, and @linear for the full workflow.
mind-blowing, this is how you get 100x experiments without hiring a design ops team.
in one year, the one-person company will win by having a tighter loop from real-time data → decision → design → eng... speed to iteration!

Mono Lisa is the future blueprint.

We’re inviting one Grok Bot user to a Starship launch. You could win the invite by sharing the ways you've integrated @Bot into your work. The invite includes a plus one.

Inspired by my first @ADPList session with Oluwatobiloba Falana! She is so real. Her key advice for starting in data analytics: master the foundations first to avoid tool overwhelm. Highly recommend booking a session with her! adplist.org/mentors/gloria-f…

Design is the only profession where everyone in the company thinks they are a designer.
It seems these days, everyone has a take of what good taste/design is. On the contrary, nobody ever tells an engineer the backend feels off.
I think it's hard to blame anyone. Design is the only work people can see. You don't need to read code to have opinions on design, so it makes you feel like you have taste.
Sadly, at most companies, craft don't win, seniority usually does; when the argument is just preference.
What I've observed to be true is a clear "why" and the fundamentals ie. what problem it solves, the tradeoffs of why it this > that.
Yesterday, at @grok @bot galaxy and it clicked for me. Good tools don't replace taste. They accelerate it I'll be sharing a Grokbot for Designers guide (+ template) for those who still need to ship something beautiful.
Ironically, most people are paid to have opinions. Designers paid to reason.
May the best ideas win.

Just had a really helpful mentorship session with Shailee Shah from Carvana through @ADPList.
She was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and generous with her advice, especially around PM interviews, and how product teams work across digital + physical operations.
If you’re preparing for PM interviews or want to learn more about product at Carvana, highly recommend booking a session with her. 💛 adplist.org/mentors/shailee-…

I’ve been reflecting on our mission to democratize mentorship for everyone—and AI has only reminded us that real human connection is irreplaceable.
I’m proud to see the glowing reviews from our global community. ❤️
Thank you for being part of this mission!

AI is making all design look the same. But does that actually matter?
"@OpenAI and @ElevenLabs: their design is quite similar. White, clean, Apple-like. But @AnthropicAI and @ChatGPT look totally different. As long as there's a baseline of really good visual, at some point it really doesn't matter to consumers. They just want value."
@felixleezd, founder of @ADPList, on why originality in design might be the wrong thing to optimize for.
Full convo below!
"They said AI would replace design. Instead it proved how much design matters."
That's @felixleezd's line, and he'd know. A VC told him at 20 that Singaporeans can't build companies. No design degree, rejected from the jobs he wanted.
Then he built @ADPList into the biggest free mentorship platform in the world instead. A million users, 40,000 mentors, 140 countries.
We got into:
•Why judgment, not pixels, is the real moat in design now
•Why "originality is dead," and why similar-looking apps can both win
•Why super-app clutter vs. Western minimalism is cultural, not a quality gap
•Splitting with a co-founder the right way
•The hiring mistakes he'd take back
