In March of 2020, 75 volunteers and teens joined us at the State Capitol to advocate for legislation including HB5482 requiring the Lifeline on student IDs. It passed and one of our volunteers sent me this picture today. It’s a small step in the right direction! #AFSPadvocacy

This is great news out of Lansing! Howell students advocated with several state legislators for passage of this bill and now it is law 👏👏👏

HB5482 has been passed and signed into law! It mandates a suicide prevention hotline number be printed on middle and high school student ID cards and encourages schools to post suicide prevention resources for youth. Thanks to Rep. Schroeder and our Field Advocates! #AFSPadvocacy
