If you want to be great, then accept the fact that you are going to have to work really hard for days, weeks, months, and years.
Don’t spend 2 hours searching for a way to get out of 45 minutes worth of work, or criticize others because you are unwilling to get uncomfortable.

Working out in the heat and humidity sucks.
It is much easier to go over the edge and overtrain.
Here's how to train in the heat, gain fitness, and not overtrain from someone who ran 100 mile weeks in the summer heat of Houston, TX:

One thing that college didn’t prepare me for was life without collegiate sports. I truly miss xc and track—not only the competing part, but the social environment, my team, and teammates througout the years + all the memories! Cherish everything you can now.

Four healthy attitudes to have about competition:
1. Effort and improvement are more important than winning.
2. Cheating to win is never okay.
3. You can compete hard on the field, and be friendly off of it.
4. Winning/losing doesn’t change your true worth as a person.

Feeling a great sense of pride with the girls we’ve sent on to run in college, but moreover all of the girls who rep our program in some manner. They are bright lights illuminating a path we hope every Rocket runner follows. – at Louisville, KY
