2+ hours. Every single day. That's how long kids from Whitefield spend on Varthur Road for a 5km commute. My own daughter is stuck right now as I post this. Whitefield deserves better than this. @blrcitytraffic @DKShivakumar @krishnabgowda @PCMohanMP @MALimbavali #Varthur

As you may know, I have spent the past 25 years growing cells in culture as part of my work in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Over time, I have become increasingly concerned about our impact on the planet and how it will affect future generations. In the last 5 years, I have focused on developing technologies to make sustainable food through cell bioprocessing. One of my achievements is the development of a cultivated meat process that addresses the current challenges of factory farming. Along the way, we also devised a method to eliminate animal slaughter from FBS production. We collect platelet-rich plasma from free-range cows through a plasmapheresis process, which provides a rich cocktail of growth factors. These cows live on a ranch and contribute to carbon sequestration through sustainable farming practices. The platelet lysate we collect meets the needs for growing cells in culture, as demonstrated in the attached white paper with numerous third-party validations. I would love for you to consider using Plenty in your research. You can learn more about Plenty and consider it for your needs at Plenty. If you are not completely satisfied with Plenty, our team will do whatever it takes to ensure your satisfaction. Thank you for your consideration. getplenty.bio

I have news! I just joined @TIFRH_buzz as faculty 2 weeks ago. It's a crazy change after 11 years of living in the US! But I'm super excited to work with students in India to study animals in the tropics, understand heterothermy better, and help shape Indian ecology!
The nationwide entrance examination for the TIFR Graduate School Admissions will be conducted on December 10, 2023. Apply here: tifr.res.in/academics/gs_adm… Last date to apply: Nov 02, 2023 (Noon) FAQs: tifr.res.in/academics/faq.ph…

Today might have seen the biggest physics discovery of my lifetime. I don't think people fully grasp the implications of an ambient temperature / pressure superconductor. Here's how it could totally change our lives.

The scarlet fever rash is historically described as bright red, but on people of color this can clearly be inaccurate; the rash may simply be flesh colored along with the characteristic sandpapery feel and appearance. #Pediatrics #MedTwitter #ScarletFever

Human eyes only see the world through the very narrow 'visible spectrum' of electromagnetic radiation. But not all creatures see the world in the same light. Quite literally. Bees for example can see shorter wavelengths and for them flowers look even more spectacular 🧵1/12

Thread in response to many questions about when we should start with booster doses. Yes, some countries that have used inactivated, vectored vaccines or mRNA vaccines have begun to offer booster doses to selected populations, like the elderly. 1/9

The sense of abandonment is so real in Afghanistan right now. So many women begging for help, afraid of a Taliban take over and what that would mean for them.

Devastated to hear this shocking news about Danish Siddiqui - one of the bravest & best photo journalists of our times. This was no age to go. Yet another life snatched away by a senseless & brutal insurgency. Farewell, Danish. You’ll be sorely missed.
Danish Siddiqui, a Reuters photojournalist, was killed in clashes in Spin Boldak district in Kandahar, sources confirmed. The Indian journalist was covering the situation in Kandahar over the last few days.
