To protect non-smokers from the harmful effects of secondhand smoke, all offices under the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) have been declared 100% tobacco- and smoke-free.

The call was made at a meeting titled “Way Forward to Ensure Tobacco-Free Public Transport,” jointly organized by Dhaka Ahsania Mission and the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) at the BRTA conference room in Banani, Dhaka, on Wednesday afternoon (9 September 2026).
