The news regarding FBref losing access to utilise Opta data has understandably caught the attention of many across the football analysis community.
While this is not the first time a situation like this has occurred on the platform, it’s never ideal to see analysts temporarily lose access to tools they rely on, especially at such an accessible price point, which helps many without access to the likes of @Hudl, etc.
That said, we fully support @sports_ref, the team behind FBref, in finding a suitable solution, as they have successfully done in the past, working in the best interests of the community.
Moments like this are a reminder of how important accessible data solutions are for analysts at every level of the game.
