Public @PHLschoolboard meetings held in person at 440. Charter hearings—no public admission. That’s a TV show not a hearing @APPSphilly

I wasn't able to make the #PHLed board public meeting last night but @ChalkbeatPHL recounted the heated session: chalkbeat.org/philadelphia/2…

RANDOM THOUGHT: One of the things I've learned through covering the #76Place hearings is that the @sixers are worth a whole lot of money. About $4 billion to be exact.
So my question is, why did @phillymayor ask for just $50 million for the #communitybenefitsagreement?

This just keeps getting more interesting but in a slimy kind of way.

Shocking to see Streater and @PHLschoolboard bring in Philly cops to intimidate public speakers. Shame. The people who just made speeches about how much they care about their community. Shameful. #GestapoTactics

The giveaway here is that the ultra-rich like Yass and Brook Lenfest give millions of dollars to prop up (already publicly funded) charter schools and then point to them as exemplars while denying that one of the biggest things holding back public schools is lack of funds.
Interesting profile on Jeff Yass, a pro-school choice mega donor from the burbs
It casts him as the ultimate free market true believer. But given that framing I would have liked more of his responses to policy critiques like this, rather than an aside
