A Message from @YeagerBrent: I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for your understanding and patience as we’ve all navigated through the extreme temperatures and record setting snowfall over the past few days. What a way to start off the new year! As a parent, I know the excitement a snow day announcement can bring to my own kids– for them, it’s like winning the weather lottery! But as a superintendent, I also know the challenges a snow day can pose for families as well as all the hard work that takes place behind the scenes to clear our 60+ campuses of the snow. Thank you for your flexibility and continued support during these snowy stretches. I would be remiss if I did not give a special shout-out to our hardworking operations staff and custodians for all that you have done to make our schools accessible. Your efforts are truly appreciated. While it is not our standard practice to communicate when we anticipate school to be in session as regularly scheduled, this one feels a little different. We are excited to welcome our students and staff back to school tomorrow and I want to give everyone time to make plans to ensure you are ready for a great day of school. In addition, I wanted to share that transportation services will run as normally scheduled. However, please exercise caution and patience as our buses navigate the snowy conditions. Thank you for your continued partnership! 📷@OlatheWestOwls crew working on the snow removal! Thank you to all of our custodians and Operation Services team members. 🩶
