Hail the genius birds.
🍂 For many of us across North America, the air is crisp, leaves are showing their true colors, and pumpkin spice is trickling through our veins. 🐦‍⬛ Sit with this raven a moment, and enjoy. There’s so much good in the air.

Yesterday marked 100 years since socialist luminary and union agitator Eugene V. Debs died. Debs’s life and work was inspired by an unwavering belief that a more just and free world was possible, and that it would be created through class struggle.

The apple season is in full gear in WA state and "Arnulfo" is repairing the bins used to hold 900 lb of apples. He works long hours doing this maintenance 6 days a week and earns $18/hr. #WeFeedYou

Phillips 66 in New Jersey has locked out nearly 400 workers at their Bayway refinery and Linden terminal after a contract extension expired. A lockout is initiated by management to force union concessions by withholding pay and benefits. This is the East Coast's largest refinery, which means this is a very significant labor disupute at a very significant energy facility. Teamsters Local 877 says the rejected offer would weaken wages, healthcare, and safety protections. The union voiced safety concerns about the plant now being operated by non-union salaried supervisors and engineers while emergency response personnel are locked out. Refinery operations involve highly complex, dangerous chemical, and high-pressure thermal processes. Running a 275,000-barrel-per-day refinery with temporary replacement crews leads to heightened hazard risks. Not having the primary emergency response team on standby poses an unacceptable risk to nearby communities in New Jersey.

Funny how these neo-McCarthyites always try, try, try to equate Marxist to Fascism, when in fact BOTH Fascists & Liberals support Capitalism & the Soviet working class destroyed the 3rd Reich at Berlin! Even funnier how Trump vows daily to destroy the "Communists & Radical Left"

Farm workers are picking tomatoes in Los Banos area. "We go in at 7am and get off at 1pm. We are bent over for those hours and our backs ache by the end of the work day. When we get home we often take pain meds and use ointments for relief." #WeFeedYou

This is an endangered bird called a Ridgway’s rail. This one took a bath in the pickleweed at the estuary right in front of me this morning during high tide and then opened his wings to dry off. Nice treat.
