"It’s not uncommon to hear men, particularly in conservative circles....."
I don't wanna be that guy, but I'm totally going to be that guy - this is backwards. Even according to your study which uses 19 cultures, 17 are tribal, 1 are Mormons & another Islamic.
Mormans are the only Christan denomination left that still holds onto polygamy to a degree.
And Islam is the ONLY religion to officially practice it.
Most western conservative men are very pro-monogamy, while liberals are extremly non-monogamous & heavily promote plural lifestyles, even if it's not "traditional marriage". & that's not even counting how liberals treat and welcome Islam.
So no it's "within conservative circles" where plural marriages are discussed or admired.

>it's not uncommon
Yes, it fucking is.
It's actually far more common to hear about conservatives say that polygyny was a way to deprive young men of wives but that this phenomenon has been replaced with cads taking advantage of hypergamy and modern dating practices.
It’s not uncommon to hear men, particularly in conservative circles, speak favorably about having multiple wives. What’s discussed far less is what happens between the women expected to share a husband. Researchers examined nearly two centuries of historical accounts documenting conflict between women sharing a husband across 19 cultures and published it this year. They found that physical aggression was documented in 63% of them.
In 74%, women competed for their husband’s sexual attention and affection, while only 37% documented competition over material resources.
In 58%, wives even had separate living arrangements.
Please take a look at the last table.
Quite a detail to leave out when discussing polygamy.

My favorite thing about wacky GOP antics from the Obama era is that every single thing your insane conservative uncle predicted at Thanksgiving 2011 came true.
- They ARE using your money for Abortions
- They ARE pushing the gay on Children
- The illegals/foreigners ARE stealing jobs
- New York City IS ruled by Islamo-Marxists
- The debt IS exclusively welfare fraud

Equating a man who views you as the potential woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with “I don’t think you’re a person” is exactly the issue.

In Japan, "American" isn't just a nationality.
It's an adjective.
A quick Japanese dictionary:
American Dog (n.)
A corn dog. We had to name it after you. It was too good to be anything else.
American Size (adj.)
Extremely large. Used as a warning.
American Coffee (n.)
Lighter coffee, so you can keep drinking it all day. We assume this is how you get so much done.
Amekaji (n.)
"American casual." Jeans, flannel, work boots. Tokyo shops sell it like fine art. Japanese men pay serious money to look like they just fixed a fence in Montana.
Amesha (n.)
"American car." There are Japanese clubs devoted to driving enormous American trucks down streets designed for bicycles. They have never been happier.
So in Japan, when something is bigger, bolder, more generous, or more fun than it needs to be…
we just call it "American."
It's always a compliment.
I can relate, I'm trying to figure out if there's such a thing as "just friends" fresh baked pumpkin bread [i don't want to jump to conclusions]
Okay, I feel I owe everyone an update. It’s late. I’m exhausted. My head hurts. But.
Basically you guys were right, he wasn’t buying me roses once a week as a friend. Details, details. “I’m sorry it took me so long to get it.”
“That’s ok. I factored that in.”
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Goodnight and this will probably be my only update about it as I prefer to keep things mostly private at this point.
Did they at least kill the Indian, too?
For those of you who are still being mislead by the fake news of the execution in Saudi.
Here is what really happened. Now judge it yourself.
Nazrul Islam and Sithi Akter, two Bangladeshi nationals employed as cleaning workers for the Bin Laden Group in Mecca, became romantically involved while commuting to work. Nazrul lived in a residential villa in Hayyal Iskan, while Sithi resided in Batha Kuraysh.
In May 2023, the two engaged in illicit relations in a secluded stairwell room between Gates 85 and 87 of Masjidul Haram. Nazrul had asked an Indian acquaintance to stand guard downstairs, but the friend secretly recorded the encounter on video.
Later, when the Indian national attempted to make advances toward Sithi and was rejected, he leaked the video online.
The video quickly went viral, prompting immediate intervention by Saudi authorities, who successfully apprehended all three individuals.
The Indian national received a 20-year prison sentence for recording and distributing the footage.
Nazrul Islam and Sithi Akter were detained immediately following their arrest in May 2023.
Nazrul had originally arrived in Saudi Arabia from Bangladesh between November 10 and 13, 2022. Following his arrest in May 2023, he remained incarcerated throughout a lengthy three-and-a-half to four-year judicial process leading up to October 2026.
Throughout this period, official protocol dictated that the Saudi government notify the employer (sponsor) rather than foreign government authorities.
Various rumors circulated online falsely claiming that the individuals were pilgrims performing Umrah or that the charges stemmed merely from public displays of affection.
While the defendants were unmarried, the severity of the legal outcome was not solely based on the act of zina (adultery). Because the offense took place within the sacred precincts of Masjidul Haram, the court determined that they had severely violated the sanctity and honor of Islam's holiest mosque.
Consequently, senior judges of the Supreme Court handed down the death penalty as an exemplary punishment aligned with Quranic principles and the Sunnah.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Saudi confirmed Oct 14 2026 execution of Nazrul Islam and Siti Akhtar for indecent act in Mecca mosque. Official statements lack post's details of video by Indian, gates 85-87 or May 2023. Consulate: Aug 2023 detention. Narrative is unverified viral claim.

They aren't alone because they think the world is terrible. They love being alone so they pretend the world is terrible.
