A great example of American freedom at its best can be seen every day at @AMCTheatres… Where passionate attendees, many of whom possess almost no basic cognitive function, spatial awareness, common courtesy, and seemingly escaped from some sort of evil lab where they were grown as an experiment to piss me off, go home to enjoy all of the same rights and freedoms as you and me. Truly inspiring.

I have been straight edge since I was 14 years old, and I’ve never thought twice, looked back, OR thought myself above or better than anyone. But what I do know is that in a world that teaches us to numb ourselves, straight edge taught me how to feel. In a culture that profits from our continuous destruction, it can be the ultimate weapon… Against apathy, against excess, and most importantly, against the slow surrender of the self.
