Today a squirrel got spirited away into my house for 40 minutes and appropriately made me late to see a screening of Spirited Away. 😅⛩️ I got like 30 minutes of footage of this I'm going to cut together. Little dude made me basically scream at one point. 🤣

Do you know about the tragedy of the chestnut tree? It used to be an important anchor species on our continent mere decades ago but was almost entirely wiped out by a blight in the 20th century that a careless salesman brought from overseas. FOUR BILLION American Chestnut Trees died to the blight. Thinking about that staggering loss has always made me cry. Anyway, there is an important grove in West Virginia that was planted in the '70s with hundreds of blight-surviving chestnuts. The cheap hood I scavenged for my car kiiiind of had the texture of sandpaper, so I had to take my baby to a detailer to make my home repairs feel complete. I haven't had a chance to pick her up yet, but the detailer sent me 30 photos, and at the end included one of her hanging out with some Audi friends, and she looks gorgeous. 🥹 (My 2006 SLK280 has a six CD changer and is like 15+ years older than those fancy Audis but I appreciate the inclusion. 🤣)

I was running late to work today when I got flagged down before I even got out of my own neighborhood. A young dude had a dead battery and a girlfriend to get to work. The cool thing about working at a YouTube channel is that it reeeeeally doesn't matter, so I pulled up and happily jumped him.* 🥰 I also found out that the absurd hood on my car reaches higher than the hood of a 4Runner.
