The Trump administration apparently failed to consider that importing Russian oil is prohibited under US law.
Of course nobody knew. Did anyone seriously expect the world’s stupidest circus to understand the laws of the country it supposedly governs? These people struggle with basic concepts.
Didn’t anybody in the White House know about the legal prohibition against importing Russian oil? How do they expect US firms and ports to take the risk? @ACGeoEcon @ACEurasia @petereharrell

Among the disappointments that led to the eminent threat to America's democracy I feel most betrayed by the Supreme Court.
That institution was to be our failsafe against waves of delirium and fascist irrationality.
Instead SCOTUS became an ally to hasten lunacy. – at Edgewood, KY

The DOJ has existed since 1870. A federal judge says it has "rarely, if ever" done what Trump's lawyers did in her courtroom this month.

Vivek made the choice to attack victims with a disgusting ad, so we attacked Vivek with our own... except ours is going to keep running because we won't let a sick man get away with what he did.

Whatever you think the Trump administration won't do next week, count on them doing exactly that.
Do you realize the forces the Trump administration has aligned against fair voting next week?
Deals with Russia, a certain billionaire, the Justice Dept, lawsuits, federal agents.

Voter: I’m a Republican. I'm an old school Reagan Republican, and I believe personal integrity means things. And so I support people that have good personal integrity, and I like James Talarico. He is the kind of guy we need in office.
Q: Not Ken Paxton?
Voter: Definitely not Ken Paxton. Like I said, I think we need people with personal integrity. My father taught me personal integrity is what you do when you think nobody's watching, and we know what Mr. Talarico’s opponent will do when nobody's watching. I think we need people that are willing to represent their constituents and not just their donors.

Thanks to reporting we now have a fuller picture of Amy Acton's mother -- homeless, not getting the care she needs, unstable -- and that means someone from the Ramaswamy team scooped her up, got her TV-ready, shot the ad, and then sent her back to destitution without helping her.

Eight months into a war with Iran, Pete Hegseth just fired the general in charge of planning it. Army Lt. Gen. Brett Sylvia served 32 years. He's the second J5 pushed out under Hegseth, and no replacement has been named.
Sylvia is the latest of nearly two dozen military leaders fired or forced out on Hegseth's watch, and his removal comes as Trump weighs new strikes after the midterms.
So the question we all should be asking is this: with Sylvia gone, who’s planning the war? theatlantic.com/national-sec…

CBS found Trump’s clemency wiped out at least $119 million in restitution owed to crime victims — small businesses, community banks, everyday people who got defrauded.
Pardon power shouldn’t erase what courts ordered victims to be paid back.
Congress needs to rein this in.

Florida this is how it’s done. A massive group of UCF students decided to March to the polls to vote for their favorite Florida home grown girl Angie Nixon who will look out for Florida unlike her opponent Ashley Moody with her ties to the Hope Florida scandal.

.@AnnieAndrewsMD: I'm really proud to not take any corporate PAC money unlike my opponent who has taken $27M in corporate PAC money. We have been building a people-powered grassroots movement here. My average donation is $30. Darline has raised not very much money of her own so she is being propped up by data center and insurance PACs
