I updated the projections for both the Magic and Thunder. Black and Mitchell look like top-100ish guy with the potential to be a little more. Mitchell has more upside than last year. Doubt OKC pushes Caruso, so McCain will need to play a bunch now. He's worth considering in deep leagues. I bet Franz goes over 6.0 APG now. da Silva is still just low-end.

Very rough night. Black is a must-add. Mitchell is the add in OKC.
Status alert: Jalen Suggs (knee) helped to locker room Sunday. He suffered a non-contact injury to left knee while landing following a layup.

I created a separate page for Daily Projections instead of continuing to group them with the Weekly Projections. The daily projections now allow you to remove games from the projections, so you can look at the best options at different points of the day. Like all of Elite Fantasy Basketball's projections, they are adjustable for any category or points league settings and will include an option to only show players available in your league.

I figured the ankle was still bothering him. It helps explain the terrible preseason and super quiet start.

Suns vs Warriors - The Suns struggled against the Warriors' C team but did manage to get it done. Booker had 43. In preseason, he was talking about getting more shots up this year. We should keep an eye on his usage. I do think he can top last year's numbers. - Jalen Green had a rough one and only played 26 minutes. He's a very forgettable category league player. I doubt he cracks the top 100 this year. In points leagues, he's more valuable and could get in that range. - Maluach started and played 28 minutes with Ighodaro out with his hip issue. He had 9/9/3 with one steal and two blocks. That's a solid line, but I remain very skeptical that he will be a 12-team player when Oso is healthy. He is still very raw. Hold until Ighodaro is back and then reassess. - Gillespie had 11/4/9 and two threes and two steals in 28 minutes. He's fine to have in 12-team leagues, but is just a borderline option. In 14-team leagues, he is a must. - Yaxel had 26 in 36 minutes with both Steph and Podziemski out. He has been awesome and should continue to be awesome. It's clear the Warriors are not too worried about their record this year, so the usage could be there all year long. He is looking like a home run pick. - Santos started, but played just 23 minutes and left early with a leg injury. He can be dropped. Kerr is already yanking around his minutes. That's a bad sign. - Melton had 25/5/5 with four threes and three steals off the bench. I wouldn't call him a must roster in 12-team leagues, but he's definitely a must-watch. If he has another big game with Steph and Podz back, then we should add. Melton only needs about 26 minutes to be useful. He could get that as the Warriors' third guard. It's also worth noting that this was the second half of a B2B. It looks like Melton isn't going to rest during B2Bs this year.

Nuggets vs Pelicans - This was a wild game. The Nuggets were down by a million for most of the game before making a massive comeback in the fourth. Murray was lights-out all game. Jokic was terrible early but took over late. - Gordon had a rough game but did play 37 minutes. The Nuggets must be pretty confident in his health to play him that much. Gordon is a 12-team player, but a back-end one. He may not be a must all year long. His ceiling is low. - Braun was solid tonight, although he needed 40 minutes to post a decent line. He's just a borderline 12-team player. I would not prioritize him over anyone with solid upside. - DeMar played 24 off the bench even though Cam Johnson was out. That is a terrible sign. Maybe they are just being careful with him, but as long as he's losing minutes to "Bryce Hopkins" and "Trevon Brazile" we shouldn't hold him in 12-team leagues. Watch him, but I would be dropping. - Brazile has actually been pretty solid through two games. He had a fantasy-friendly game in college and is worth considering in 16-team leagues. In shallower settings, he's a nice boards streamer who could help in blocks too. - Murphy had a big night after being a no-show in the Pelicans' first two games. He should be fine, but there is a little uncertainty here due to the coaching change. His role could be different this year. He's not going to be a minor piece in the offense like he was during the first two games, but we can't lock in last year's numbers just yet. - DeAndre Jordan started for Missi instead of Queen and played 20 minutes. He could continue to start but I doubt he plays that much. The minutes had a lot to do with who was on the other side. - Fears isn't playing much and can be dropped. He hasn't topped the 24-minute mark yet. - Bey is posting some impressive per-minute numbers. He's needed just 23.7 MPG to average 15.7 PPG, 2.3 3PG, and 4.0 RPG. In 14-team leagues, I would hold despite the low minutes. In 12-teamers, I would just stream for now, but he will definitely have some stretches this year where he is a must in shallower leagues. - Queen played 25 off the bench. He likely would have played more if Jokic wasn't the opposing center. He will be a must-roster in all leagues as long as Missi is out.

Rockets vs Hawks - No FVV or Smart tonight, so Sheppard started, played 30 minutes, and put up a first-round line. That's great, but until we see him play at least 22 MPG when the full roster is active, I don't see how we can hold him in 12-team H2H leagues. In Roto, where we can pick our spots, he is a must-roster. I would bite the bullet and try to hold in 14-team H2H leagues, but it's fine to let him go if your team runs into injury issues. - Eason has looked very good in his two full games. He is a must-roster in 12-team leagues for now. It's possible he gets squeezed, but it does look like he is back to being a top-end per-minute producer. - Okongwu has had a very quiet start to the year. He's another guy I'm not too worried about. We know he can be at least a mid-round player in his current role. He's just not playing well at the moment. - McCollum is doing absolutely nothing outside of points and threes. I'd hold for now in 12-team leagues, but I'm not sure he's going to be a must once the shooting cools off. In 10-team leagues, he's already a borderline player. - Daniels has had a monster start to year. Only one steal tonight, but it's hard to complain about that when he has given us 13 this week. His USG% is up a notable amount this year, although his AST% is down quite a bit as well. Both are worth keeping an eye on. - NAW has picked up where he left off last year. It's pretty clear last season wasn't a fluke. - Aaron Wiggins has been a very nice fit in Atlanta and is averaging 17.0 PPG on 58.1 FG%, 3.3 3PG, and 1.7 SPG through three games. He's a must in 14-team leagues. In 12-teamers, he's a high-end streamer for now who should be a pickup once one of the starters goes down.

Spurs vs Mavericks - Wembanyama has been bad (by his standards) to start the year. I wouldn't worry about it. He struggled early in the year last season and was looking a little bust-ish. He wasn't even in the same stratosphere as Jokic and SGA early on. He then proceeded to lap the field over the second half of the season. - The Spurs weren't able to put away the undermanned Mavericks until late. The three guard lineup isn't working too well. I think either Fox or Harper is going to have their feelings hurt eventually. You can't get away with Vassell at the four. Three guards and Tobias will probably work better, but I don't think the current setup is the answer. Either guard going to the bench wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing for their fantasy value. They'd still play close to 30 and their usage might jump. - Castle has been bombing threes and hasn't been getting in the lane much. He's at 3.7 3PG and just 0.7 FTA through three games. His managers should hope that is a sign of things to come. A shift like that in his playstyle would make his game much more category league-friendly. I don't trust him, but it's a good start. - Champagnie is just a threes streamer. The big start in the defensive categories isn't real. In 25/26, he averaged just 0.8 SPG and 0.5 BPG in 27.6 MPG. - Marshall only played 21 minutes, which was a major surprise given that both Flagg and Kyrie were out. I'd still pick him up and see where it goes. He played around 30 in the Mavs' first two games. In a 30 MPG role without Flagg, he'd score in the high-teens while giving us around five assists and a steal. - Washington was a 12-team player before the Flagg injury and will get a boost while Flagg is out. He was quiet in what was a tough matchup, but he did play 26 minutes. - Gafford had 12 points, nine boards, three steals, and two blocks against Wemby in just 23 minutes. That's enough to get me interested again after he posted back-to-back duds to start the season. With the Mavs a little thin at C, I don't mind giving Gafford a couple of weeks to see if he can turn back into the per-minute monster he was before last season. He also had a locker room trip for what ended up being a very minor issue. The NBA is back, baby. - de Larrea was very impressive with 21/5/4 and three triples off the bench. He managed that in 33 minutes. He's worth keeping an eye on but isn't an add anywhere. He played a total of eight minutes over the Mavericks' first two games.

Cavaliers vs Nets - There is not going to be a ton to talk about on the Cavs' side until someone goes down. Watson is the iffiest of the Cavaliers' starters. He has been okay so far. His offensive role is somewhat small, but he continues to do enough on defense to be worth holding in 12-team leagues. He has three steals and two blocks through two games and had three steals and four blocks over three preseason games despite playing limited minutes. In 10-team leagues, I would not call him a must. - Harden was dreadful and was very mediocre in the opener as well. We should see some regression this year due to his age and also because his stats with the Cavaliers after the trade last year were inflated by some unsustainable shooting from deep. He's not going to be a 20 PPG player this year unless the Cavaliers run into injury issues. - Tyson had 15/4 with three triples and a steal off the bench in just 21 minutes. I like him a lot in 14-team leagues. He's someone fantasy managers in shallower settings will need to watch all year long. He should be the Cav who gets the biggest boost anytime one of Harden, Mitchell, or Watson is out. On nights when he's play 30, he's a clear 12-team piece. His game is a good match for category leagues. - Sharpe got into major foul trouble and then got tossed after his second flagrant of the night. Foul trouble is going to be a theme for Sharpe this year, but we have to stick with him. He's a strong per-minute producer and the Nets have very little behind him. If he can figure out how to stop fouling, he could end up as as a top-50 player in builds punting a big man category. - MPJ has been lights-out to start the year. Zero concern about his per-game numbers. His only issue is the Nets not having their pick. Unlike other bad teams, they won't need to play their veterans late to avoid the bottom three. That doesn't mean sits are coming, but it does create some uncertainty. - Demin went off for 22/4/6 after a brutal opener and a quiet preseason. He's viable in 12-team leagues, but is also fine to drop if someone like Reed, Diabate, etc. is out there. I'm not sure he's going to be more than a low-end option outside of punt FG%. - Ellis is just a steals and threes streamer. - Brown played 20 off the bench. He should be rostered in 16-team leagues for his upside. In 14, he's a tough hold.

Wizards vs Bulls - George was excellent and had 29/9/5 with four blocks. Dybantsa will slow him down, but given what we've seen so far and in preseason, there is no reason to expect George to not be a 12-team player this year. He is very impressive. - Sarr stunk again. It was very obvious a slow start was coming, but this is painful. Don't sell low. Wait for a big run, or a stretch when AD is out, and then put him on the block if you are worried about his outlook. Worth remembering that he is coming off a major injury. He likely would have started slow if AD was not around. - Coulibaly had two steals in 25 minutes. He will be a top-end defensive categories streamer as long as AJ is out. - Jalen Smith continues to produce some very strong per-minute numbers, but the minutes continue to be mediocre. He's a must-roster in 12-team leagues, but I'm not sure we are getting 30 MPG anytime soon. - Buzelis had his first solid game of the season and it was great to see him play 35. I'm not too worried about him. Wilson is eating into his touches, but as the Bulls' second-best prospect, I have a very hard time believing he'll be somewhat limited all season long. - Wilson has been playing a little more in control since his wild opener. He had zero turnovers today after having nine against the Raptors. It will be a bumpy ride, but given how much usage they are pumping into him, it could end with a top-60 finish. His development is the Bulls' primary focus this year. - Giddey saved his line late, but he was still extremely underwhelming. I didn't like him during draft season, but I didn't think he'd be this bad. I'm not buying low unless he comes at a pretty significant discount. I'm sure some of the slow start is the wrist, but his role does look smaller under Splitter, and also, he's just not that good. Taking so-so real life players in the early rounds is always risky since they come with lower floors. - Tre Jones continues to outplay Giddey, but so far, that hasn't led to decent minutes. He hasn't topped 24 minutes in a game yet. A big reason why is that Splitter is not playing Giddey and Jones together. They have not played a single minute beside each other. Last season, the two guards shared the court regularly. That needs to change for Jones to be a clear 12-teamer. Despite the iffy role, I still like Tre as a back-of-the-roster hold in 12-team leagues. He's played great and could eat into Giddey's minutes if Giddey continues to struggle. - Leonard Miller is an interesting player, but I don't think he's going to play enough to be more than a 16-teamer.

Sixers vs Bucks - Embiid has looked better than expected so far, especially on the defensive end. He's been inefficient, but the overall value has been solid. Doesn't mean much. Whether or not he ends up as a good pick will come down to whether or not his knee holds up. - Maxey shot poorly but the USG% was very strong again. Through three games, his USG% is sitting at 27.5%. That's only a slight drop from his 25/26 mark. If his role over the first three games of the season ends up being his role for the majority of the year, he will probably be the correct answer to "who should we have taken at five?" Nothing we have seen so far suggest a major dip is coming. - Edgecombe was quiet in the opener but has been very solid since. He's looking like a mid-round guy. He'll be inconsistent due to LeBron and Embiid hopping in and out of the lineup, but the overall value should be there. - We got a much needed big Ware game. It was made possible by Turner foul trouble, but it was encouraging to see him hold his own against Embiid. I'm not too worried about Ware's slow start. I would be worried if he was on a good team, but on the Bucks, the minutes should eventually be there. No double-big lineups yet. The next three games will tell us if we are going to see that lineup regularly. The Bucks have the Pacers, Rockets, and Cavaliers next, three teams with size at the four. If Turner and Ware don't play together in those games, we may not see the double-big lineup for a while. - Speaking of Turner, he gotten eaten up by Embiid and posted a dud. The first two games were solid, so I'm not worried there. I'm pretty sure he's going to be good value at his ADP. 2.3 BPG is encouraging, as is 27.5 MPG. - Rollins was a little better but still not at the level we are hoping for. I'm not too worried about him either. I think the minutes will come around once he starts looking like himself again. - Jaquez was invisible in preseason but has been a completely different player since the games started to count. He's on a heater right now, but if he does play 30 a night, he should be a 12-team option and a nice piece in punt threes and punt steals. - Burries still has plenty of competition and is just a watch, even in deeper leagues.

Some quick thoughts on some of tonight's games: Heat vs Hornets - Really bad start to the year for both the Heat and Bam. I'd be worried if I was a Heat fan due to the backcourt, but I wouldn't be too worried about Adebayo if he was on my fantasy team. He and Spo will figure things out. There was always going to be an adjustment period with Giannis being such a unique player. Bam is a solid buy-low target. - The quiet Giannis night was due to foul trouble. Nothing to worry about there. - Mitchell has been great to start the season. I still think he settles in as more of a 14-teamer/dimes streamer, but he's fine to roster in 12-teamers if you need assists. His USG% is up quite a bit so far. If he continues to take almost 12 shots per night then he will be a standard league hold. - Grayson Allen was very good again. I expect him to be very good all season long. He was my favorite late-round guard target and I think he can still be fairly valuable once Kon and White get back. He only needs about 27 minutes. Must add in all category leagues. - Miller continues to lay bricks but the usage has been great. He's a bit of a buy low. He should be better once the Hornets get some reinforcements. His usage will drop, but the efficiency jump should offset that. - Diabate has been quiet since the huge opener. He split minutes with Kalkbrenner because the Hornets were killing it with Kalk on the floor. I don't think that will be the usual setup. Diabate is a must in 12-teamers for now.

da Silva will probably start. He had one nice stretch last year, so 12-team managers should keep an eye on him, but I don't think we need to add. He should be useful in deeper settings. I wouldn hold Black for now. Usage bumps for everyone. Good chance Franz's dimes spike too.
