The Summer Series finale earlier in the month marked my last commentary trip for the year. I will, however, be doing some work of a different ilk at Assen in a couple of weeks.
Still, a few more commentary occasions on a remote basis, before the season ends!
Trying to process the PAC news is making sleep hard. Utterly awful, and an absolute blindside by all accounts.
I remember his work as Adrian Neville being something that really captivated me, as I was coming out of a ‘lapsed fan’ period.
RIP to an awe-inspiring performer.
All Elite Wrestling is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac. A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organizations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability. Pac signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and held multiple AEW Championships and competed in some of the most memorable matches in AEW history. Our condolences go out to Satterley’s family, friends and fans.
I was working at Silverstone over the weekend, on a BRSCC event.
The only picture I took was of my first 76 plate sighting, so please accept this as a proof-of-life!
I’m glad Josh Berry gets to stay in NASCAR’s top level. The first half of this season was perplexing, but he’s been showing his true potential again in the last few races!
I forgot to post anything here after Spa; safe to say, fun was had!
The GT Summer Series being part of the ADAC Racing Weekend has allowed me some fantastic “geek out” opportunities around the paddocks and trackside.
Also, I can finally say I’ve driven “old Spa”. Good weekend!
I will be back at Spa for the first time since 2023, this weekend. It should be a great event in the GT Summer Series… it feels impossible that we’re already on the penultimate round!
An Autism and AI ramble I want off my chest:
AI is damaging society, in my view. It’s fostering laziness, eating away at creativity… Not a groundbreaking take, I know.
However, as an autistic person, I feel like it is making the world around me harder to interact with. (1/5)
It’s said the monoculture no longer exists. Very little is able to be mainstream in this era.
But does that really mean everything has to be the same homogenous slop? Between the AI nothingness, the “is this even real” gambit and autism, I feel less human.
I’m exhausted. (5/5)
Scrappage scheme survivors such as this have a bizarre amount of presence in the modern day, given how utterly run of the mill they were 30 years ago.
Well, isn’t that interesting! You can find the trailer (with a familiar voice and face) on Instagram, too…
I’m seeing 2000s Toyota Celica and Capybara at the front. Wingless Lotus Elise GT1 at the rear.
Interesting.
Cc: @formulawah - Do you also see the Capy-car-a on the front-facing pic?
