CAF and the Uganda Tourism Board have concluded an agreement that will see Uganda promoted as “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚” during the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON PAMOJA 2027.
Uganda becomes the tournament’s Official Destination Sponsor, giving the country a major international platform to showcase its wildlife, culture, tourism attractions, hospitality and investment opportunities to millions of people worldwide.
The partnership will also use football to:
• Attract more international tourists to Uganda.
• Promote East Africa as a leading tourism destination.
• Create business and investment opportunities.
• Deliver long-term economic benefits beyond football.
CAF General Secretary Samson Adamu was present in Kampala for the launch, alongside Ugandan government officials and tourism leaders.
Credit to Samson Adamu for his role in driving CAF’s commercial and strategic partnerships, and to CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe for championing the vision of using African football as a platform for economic growth and development.
AFCON 2027 must be more than just football. It is an opportunity to showcase Africa to the world!
