When a client leaves IAPT not feeling better, they don't say "This brief, limited session mannualised therapy hasn't worked for me", they say "THERAPY" hasn't worked for me" & can come away thinking they are beyond help. 54% of IAPT clients don't come for a 2nd session.

I remember having to explain that not only are brown ppl capable of racism, but colonialism gave many a deep self loathing, which was then weaponised against other brown ppl To @SuellaBraverman For educating an entire nation on what this looks like thank you for your service

Seeking asylum is a fundamental human right for people fleeing violence, persecution or war. We have a duty to help refugees rebuild their lives. Wherever they come from. Whenever they are forced to flee.

Isn't it funny when we women of colour complain or stand up for ourselves we're labelled angry and aggressive, yet the complaints of white women and men are considered reasonable and measured #race #class #whiteprivilege #equity #socialjustice

55 years ago today, Enoch Powell gave his poisonous "Rivers of Blood" speech, filled with claims about 'alien inflows' and 'fraudulent entry'. We were founded the same year. The 'Illegal' Migration Bill returns to Parliament next week, with that same dehumanising rhetoric. 🧵

Seeing a psychologist who describes themselves as trauma informed publicly attacking and harassing person with lived experience to point they have to leave the platform says a lot about their character. It was never about the patients it’s all about their own agenda.
Very sad to see that @adamfare1996 has felt the need to leave twitter after yesterday’s events. Hope that he is back soon. He is one of the very best on #mentalhealthtwitter

Racists have been living their best lives since they learned the term 'unconscious'...
The FA has revealed a string of offensive racial remarks by John Yems but still concluded that the former Crawley manager is "not a conscious racist". Warning: The below copy contains language of a racist and discriminatory nature.

This is Mursal Nabizadah. She was a former Member of Parliament in Afghanistan and was shot dead in her home last night in Kabul by armed men, alongside her bodyguards. Taliban ruled-Afghanistan is no longer a place for women. For humanity. For life.

I like to let people make up their own minds about books, but as someone who has spent their entire adult life reading about trauma, I feel compelled to tell you that this book is trash. Do not buy it.

Shame is a deep-rooted feeling that oppressors sitting in their own fears, insecurities & pain want to project on those they see as 'others', those minoritised & marginalised, by attacking humiliating them, in order to feel better #WorkingWithinDiversity #AntiOppressivePractice

Seeking my own counseling for my continued growth has been on my to-do list. Witnessing the events of #TherapistTwitter taught me that I will certainly not be seeking care from a white clinician in the foreseeable future. Some seem fine. I genuinely don't trust most of you.
