In Election Petition No. 002 of 2026, Justice Vincent Emmy Mugabo has dismissed Kirabo Agnes Nantongo's petition challenging Brenda's election on 15th January 2026.
Court declared Brenda duly elected and ordered the petitioner to pay costs to Brenda and the Electoral Commission. Judgment delivered 6th November 2026 at Luweero High Court.

To date, there has been no conviction. The arrests appear to be preventive, premised on the fear of a possible overthrow of the government, without corresponding evidence being adduced in court.
Teso leaders should not politicize the arrest of Peter Elweru. He is not the first general to be arrested. Kaziini, Tumukunde, Kayihura, Birungi, Nabaasa, Namanya, Ssejjusa and others were all arrested and their regions didn’t throw tantrums or play sectarian cards. Inciting the public won’t help unless some people know more than they are telling us and are covering up.
