Spotted this really brown kite between burnham and Uphill, first of all thought it was the marsh harrier until it banked and I saw the forked tail.felt a bit silly thinking maybe it was a Black Kite, but there’s now one knocking about very near by. Any thoughts on the pics below?

Around 20 Stone Curlews hanging out in a Portuguese orange grove. Absolute stunning scenes, here are a few of them!

One for the Gull fans, an absolutely belting Slender-billed Gull soaking up the Portuguese sun. Only saw this one, on its own on a salt pan that was full of water, lovely!

Chuffed to see the Cheddar Red Necked Grebe today. Battling the choppy conditions it seemed to be perfectly happy!
Frustrating time at Burnham looking for the Kentish, finally got eyes on a group of 6 Plovers and they flushed, will never know if it was amongst them. This lone Grey Plover was a nice find though.
Chuffed with this Red-breasted Merganser today, a stones throw from the house. Ticking off the red eyed birds so far this year
Started the year off with the Black Necked Grebes at Cheddar Resevoir. Also male Goldeneye, Goosander and the Scaup. 🐦
Finally got some pics of the Ring Necked Parakeets in Uphill park! I’ve seen the Peregrine knocking about lately, this lot are chancing it being so noisy.
