RIP to Nispsey 🙏🏽💯 This shirt is dope 🔥, but at the LA Sofi shows they sold alot of Yankees branded Jay-Z merch...in Dodger stadium. I'm still confused as to why he was selling Yankees merch at Dodgers Stadium 🤔. Doesn't make much sense to me. If anything he should have sold retro "Brooklyn Dodgers" Jay-Z branded merch since he is from Brooklyn and the Dodgers team is originally from there. That would have been dope and more appropriate imo. The leftover Yankee stuff should have been exclusive to Yankee stadium and the Roc Nation websites. Marketing wise that makes the most sense to me 🤷🏾
Jay Z & Rocnation collab with Nipsey Hussle’s Marathon Clothing brand before the Sofi stadium shows @birrrdieofc

Yeah this one hurt, although the Mariah song was fire. I wish this would have been a major hit for AZ. It might have changed his whole entire career trajectory, although he is still a legend to me. Imo the same thing happened to Nas when SWV released "Right Here" prior to "It Ain't Hard To Tell". Illmatic might have been more of a commercial success had that not happened. I think the It Ain't Hard To Tell demo version predates the SWV song too. Ironic that SWV is a part of both scenarios 😭
Honey got released 8 days after this & killed the chances of this song having any momentum

Of course in real time some folks don’t understand that @nas is our Miles Davis and like Basquiat there ain’t a non-valuable piece he’s ever done. His run of 3+3 albums with hitboy was unprecedented. As with 33 years of his work. Nas is Art and art ain’t hubcaps & fried wings. Yeah @nas is Miles to us

Nas tried to tell everyone on Magic 3 a few years ago that it was all about the art form and not the trends.

This was AZ's comment in regards to Nas' post. 👀 HOPEFULLY we finally get their long awaited collab album‼️🙏🏽
Nas reveals he’s working on new music & has a message for the music industry 🚨 “For the past year I've been watching so much happen in the culture while working on music. I think about how it started…” “Sometimes I look at all artists, creators and executives the same way. The music game forgets or doesn't compensate the foundation. Our greats have been stolen from and ripped off of.” “We can't keep creating music for the sake of a ‘trend.’ We have to remember the purpose and our contribution and how many things we created … It's time for a celebration of the music.” “It's time to address it. Love y'all. Nasir Jones. BLAK MUSIC 2026.”

🤔 Why is it that nobody ever talks about how Jay-Z sampled Nas again (Represent) for Volume 1 on "Rap Game, Crack Game"? Yet he said on his HBO doc that after Nas flaked on him for a Reasonable Doubt feature he wouldn't ask him for anything ever again. Idk, just a thought 🤷🏾

Nas feature verse on "Pour The Henny" by Mobb Deep might be the best verse of 2025 in retrospect. Sheesh‼️🔥🔥🔥

This proves the point I was making earlier. Preme even knows himself that his placement tracks are more revered than his own Gangstarr full length project tracks. In the versuz against Rza, Preme only played 5 tracks from his entire Gangstarr catalog out of over 20 songs. The placement tracks are the heavy hitters that everyone loves but fake claim they love Gangstarr
Light-Years is a fire album by Nas & DJ Premier. No, the production was not reminiscent of the beats Premo gave Big, Jay, Nas etc in the mid/late 90s, but the beats are dope and are reminiscent of early Gangstarr albums. Furthermore, the people that claimed that they loved Gangstarr don't love them as much as they say they do. They loved the version of Preme that did side missions for other artists, and they are not that familiar with the Gangstarr catalog.

Just announced by Pete Rock at NYC Comic Con, The Auditorium Volume 2 by him & Common is dropping in 2027. Some people thought the first installment ranged from great to classic. I thought the album was just okay, but needed more energy. Who's interested in the follow up to this project?

Also Big. "The Message" had the other 3 Mt. Rushmore rappers heated. Jay over the "Lex with TV sets the minimum" line, Pac with the "fake thug, no love" line, and Big with the "there can only be one king" line. That prompted Big's response on "Kick in the Door"
Jay & pac felt a way over “the message” 🤣😂

Nas also doubled down on dissing Big on the Affirmative Action Remix. "I take the crown off the so-called king of New York and look it down"
