.@CongressmanKean is the antithesis of an ego-driven politician - a gentleman with one of the kindest spirits I’ve encountered in public life. Working in conjunction with him is so easy because he authentically cares about helping people and getting things done. I live in CD5 in a border town of CD7, where I have immediate family, coworkers, & friends. NJ's 24th Legislative District spans both congressional districts, and I’ve worked with Tom’s incredibly competent, exceptional staff on numerous constituent cases. When people are in crisis or need help with a government agency, their political affiliation doesn’t matter. We serve people, and Tom models that. He’s a member of the bipartisan @ProbSolveCaucus and it shows in word and deed. In less than 4 years total in office, Tom and his team have returned more than $67M to NJ residents, closed more than 6K constituent cases, and secured over $52M in federal funding for the district. Through Community Project Funding, he has brought our tax dollars home to D24, including more than $1.2M for Byram’s police headquarters, $1M to replace lead water lines in Hopatcong, and $400K for Sparta’s pump station upgrades. Communication about Tom’s absence should have been much better handled; I won't argue that. I also know that depression can be life- threatening, and so many of us have watched someone we love suffer, and too many have first-hand experience.The resulting cruelty directed at him for getting treatment was vile, just as it was when @SenFettermanPA sought help. Meanwhile, NJ had a gubernatorial candidate who missed more votes campaigning than Representatives did seeking medical treatment, with no questions asked by the very same people who were openly critical of both congressmen. Inconvenient fact, but very true. I have nothing but respect for Tom - a husband, a dad, and a former volunteer firefighter whose commitment to serving others isn't the big show. He’s an effective congressman and an even better human being. He has my wholehearted endorsement 🇺🇸
