✅ Changes lives and strengthens communities
✅ Responds to growing and increasingly complex demand
✅ Relies on the expertise and dedication of advisers, volunteers and staff

"It's just been brilliant to get proper help I could never afford before."
Sharon*, a North Kensington resident, was deeply affected by the Grenfell Tower fire. Already living with PTSD, the tragedy worsened her condition and led to complex PTSD.
Through Westway Trust's Cost of Living Crisis Clinic, Sharon received the time, understanding and support she needed to navigate a successful PIP application. Today, Sharon is able continue working, manage her condition, and care for her four-legged family.
As #AdviceWeek 2026 comes to a close, we wanted to share a story that captures the life-changing impact of advice services 💙.
Please take two minutes to hear Sharon's story and see the difference trusted advice can make.

AI can help advice services spend more time on what matters most: supporting people.
By reducing time spent on administrative tasks, tools like WyserASSIST can help advisers focus on providing the trusted, human support that people rely on when facing complex challenges.
Our latest research shows that while people see the potential benefits of AI, they still value the expertise, judgement and reassurance that trained advisers provide. In fact, 81% of UK adults say AI cannot replace a human adviser for complex or sensitive problems.
That's why technology must support, not replace, skilled advisers.
To make this possible, advice services need investment in technology, training and safeguards, alongside long-term funding for the workforce that delivers life-changing support every day.
See how Nucleus Legal Advice is using WyserASSIST to help create more time for clients, while keeping people at the heart of advice.

Advice services change lives, but growing demand and limited resources mean advisers are often under pressure.
That's why having the right technology matters.
As Lizzie from Govan Community Project explains in this video, AdvicePro helps advisers reduce administrative work, streamline case management and spend more time where it matters most: supporting clients.
But technology is only part of the solution. To help more people access free, independent advice, the sector also needs long-term funding and a National Advice Workforce Strategy to recruit, train and retain skilled advisers. Combined with tools like AdvicePro, this can help services work more efficiently while delivering trusted advice.
That's why investment in technology must go hand in hand with investment in the advice workforce.

70% of UK adults have already used or would consider using an AI tool to get advice or information about a personal problem, including money, benefits, housing or legal issues.
This is what a new national survey of 3,014 people we commissioned reveals.
While the use of AI for advice is growing, skilled advisers continue to play an essential role in providing trusted, person-centred support, as Emma Carrington from Rethink Mental Illness explains in this video. 81% of UK adults agree AI cannot replace a human adviser for complex or sensitive problems.
At the same time, AI has the potential to help advice services reach more people by freeing up adviser time. But to make this possible, services need investment in technology, training and safeguards, so advisers can use these tools confidently and responsibly, as Steven Hithersay from Wandsworth Carers' Centre highlights.
That's why investment in AI must go hand in hand with long-term funding for advice services and a national plan to recruit, train and retain skilled advisers.

“The question is no longer whether people will turn to AI for advice. They already are.
“The question is whether we can make AI reliable enough to help people, useful enough to support advisers, and part of a properly funded advice system that ensures no one is left to face their most difficult problems alone.”
In her new piece, AdviceUK Chief Executive Liz Bayram explores what our national polling tells us about public attitudes and experiences of AI and advice, and what this means for people accessing timely advice, the advice workforce, technology companies and the Government.
Our findings reveal that seven in ten adults have either used AI for advice or are open to it. At the same time, advice organisations are facing rising demand, stretched capacity and increasing complexity in the issues people bring to them.
Liz argues that people are increasingly being left with AI as their only realistic option because the advice sector is not available when they need it. By working closely with the advice sector and using its trusted information sources, AI can be part of the solution to growing demand for advice.

Advice services are stretched.
And without greater investment, organisations like Rethink Mental Illness, Lewisham Refugee Migrant Network and Nishkam Centre are being forced to do more with less, leaving some people without the support they desperately need.
We need secure, long-term funding for advice services and a National Advice Workforce Strategy to attract, develop and retain the skilled advisers our communities rely on.

📢 Hot off the press: our latest briefing, Trusted Advice When It Matters, is out now.
Based on a nationally representative survey of 3,014 UK adults, it highlights the difference free and independent advice makes to people's situations and wellbeing, and that the public sees trained advisers as central to that.
The findings reveal growing use of AI for information about money, benefits, housing and legal problems, alongside concerns about accuracy and a strong preference for human advice when problems become complex.
Below is a snapshot of our key findings on AI and you can read the full briefing here: bit.ly/4BBT0j5
🔹81% agree AI cannot replace a human adviser for complex or sensitive problems.
🔹77% agree AI can help advice services support more people but should not be the only source of advice.
🔹74% worry about receiving incorrect or misleading advice from an AI tool.
🔹 71% say they would trust a free, independent adviser more than an AI tool.
🔹34% had already used an AI tool for advice or information about a personal issue, while a further 35% were open to doing so.

"It's quite a challenging thing to say that we can't help."
That's the reality facing many advice services today. Demand continues to rise, driven by the cost of living crisis and increasing complexity of need, while funding to sustain and expand services is shrinking.
To ensure everyone who needs helps is able to access essential advice, the sector needs secure, long-term funding and investment in its workforce.
Hear from advisers at Centre for Armenian Information, Rethink Mental Illness, Govan Community Project and Nishkam Centre about the challenges they face on the front line.

Demand for advice is rising. Funding isn't keeping pace.
Our latest report found that 75.6% of member advice organisations say rising demand is driving capacity pressures.
Every day, advice services help people avoid crisis, keep their homes, access benefits, manage debt and navigate complex systems. But without secure, long-term funding, more people risk missing out on support when they need it most.
Through #AdviceSaves, we're calling on government to:
✅ Recognise free, independent advice as an essential local service
✅ Provide long-term, sustainable core funding for advice organisations
✅ Develop and fund a National Advice Workforce Strategy to support recruitment, retention, training and career progression across the sector
Investing in advice is investing in prevention, stronger communities and better outcomes for people facing life's toughest challenges. 💙

💙 Advice changes lives and strengthens communities.
Every day, advice services help people avoid crisis, understand their rights, access essential support, and build more secure futures.
As Georgia Wukovich from RUILS highlights, timely advice can be the difference between someone facing homelessness or financial hardship, while reducing pressure on other public services.
When advice services thrive, individuals, families and communities thrive too.

💙 Advice changes lives.
Whether someone is struggling with their mental health, facing problems at work, or rebuilding their life after a traumatic experience, free, independent advice can make all the difference.
As part of our #AdviceSaves campaign, we commissioned a national poll to understand what UK adults think about advice services. What the data told us is that among those who had received free, independent advice:
✅ 68% said it reduced their stress, improved their mental wellbeing, or increased their confidence.
✅ 74% said it solved their problem, improved their situation, or stopped it from getting worse.
And while statistics help tell the story, we believe the impact of advice is best understood through the real experiences of the people it supports.
In this short video, hear from advisers at Rethink Mental Illness, Maternity Action and Lewisham Refugee Migrant Network as they share stories of how advice has transformed lives.

Advice does more than solve immediate problems.
It empowers people with the knowledge, confidence and support they need to move forward.
As Debbie Canning from Eastbourne Food Bank says: "If people have knowledge and resources, they can do things for themselves."
Service user Joanne* reflects on this, sharing how the team at Eastbourne "has helped me regain confidence in my ability to work, progress, and build a better future."
