I mean how do you make Dada the face and voice of your party when you have such an asset? She should have been positioned long ago.....even if for PR. She's warm, personable, reflective and communicates with empathy. It may be too late but she was their best ticket.. that one and his bomb squad that made sense only to him....telling us things will be fixed for G20. Telling residents they're using too much water. Breaking news, @MYANC paid money they owed and want a badge! Citizens paid for electricity and the useless corrupt thugs stole that money leading to such massive debt. Just wonder who sponsored this R5.25 billion. #VoetsekANC

Someone believed he was a worthy leader. He leads a party. Someone believed he possessed the values that were cherished by Biko. He said it out loud, in parliament. 🤣🤔

In 2016, when Eskom agreed to prepay the Guptas R587-million for coal that hadn’t been delivered it caused a national scandal. Remember that clip where Devi Sankaree Govender confronted Matshela Koko on Carte Blanche?  His response – “let’s say I made a mistake” – and the fallout that followed, was enough for Financial Mail to declare: “This scandal should be the end for Koko”. It wasn’t. But nor was it the end of Eskom’s habit of recklessly prepaying for things like coal and diesel under the guise of fighting loadshedding. Ten years later, the numbers are much bigger: at least R2.97-billion prepaid to suppliers for diesel to burn in Eskom’s Open Cycle Gas Turbines. Eskom has promised to release the results of its year-long investigation by the end of August. It’s likely to be embarrassing for an organisation that considers itself cleansed of the mistakes of the State Capture era. We hope they have something better to say than “let’s say I made a mistake”. He has discredited himself beyond any reasonable doubt. Had he not been called to testify, he would have continued peddling his delusional propaganda. No one will ever take his hollow noise seriously again

And stop saying, "Did you enjoy your holiday?" to women who come back to work from maternity leave. They just went through major surgery, had their body's chemical structure altered and spent nights tending to a whole new human that doesn't know how to articulate what they need.

OPINION | The fight against gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF) cannot be left to government alone. It is a responsibility shared by all of society. In her latest opinion piece, Deputy Minister in the Presidency, Mmapaseka Steve Letsike @msletsike reflects on the need to move beyond laws and interventions to collective action from speaking out and supporting survivors to challenging attitudes that normalise violence. Government will continue strengthening legislation, services and interventions, but lasting change requires every South African to recognise that preventing GBVF is our shared responsibility. If you see something, say something. If you suspect abuse, do not look away. 🔗 Read the full opinion piece: zurl.co/Et2Xi #EndGBVF #GenderBasedViolence #WomenEmpowerment #GovZA

If you are an ANC member please dont watch this video, you may die. I sent this video to my friend in the ANC. He said as it started his chest tightened. His breathing becoming ragged and his heart was beating fast. Then he heard "Votela iDA", multiple times and the pain hit. Straight in the chest. Searing pain. He actually had to press his hand to his heart. Too much. We called an ambulance for him. Luckily we got to it in time. The doctor says it was just political chest pains but they getting X-rays to check. Please pray for him 🙏. I will update further on his condition. Please watch at your own risk.

'Hustle Hard Development' ...
FORMER ESKOM EMPLOYEE AND THREE OTHERS CONVICTED IN MULTI-MILLION-RAND FRAUD AND MONEY LAUNDERING CASE The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI), also known as the HAWKS, in Mpumalanga welcomes the conviction of a former Eskom employee and five individuals, together with three companies, following a multi-million-rand investigation involving fraud and money laundering. The accused appeared before the Middelburg Specialised Commercial Crimes Court (SCCC) on Tuesday, 18 August 2026, where judgment was delivered in a case investigated by the Hawks’ Secunda Serious Commercial Crime Investigation (SCI) in collaboration with the Priority Crime Management Centre (PCMC), Priority Crime Specialised Investigation (PCSI) and the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA). The investigation revealed that, between October 2016 and May 2019, Nozipho Ntuli (39), a former Eskom buyer, allegedly abused her position by fraudulently awarding tenders to companies linked to people close to her. Evidence presented before the court established that Phoenix Motion Enterprise, Hustle Hard Development and Itireleng Masheleng allegedly benefited fraudulently from Eskom contracts. Phoenix Motion Enterprise was directed by Edward George Sekatane (46), who was in a relationship with Ntuli. Evidence further indicated that Sekatane continued running the company while he was incarcerated. The investigation also established links between the other companies and Sekatane. Thulani Harries Mahlalela (43) was a director of Hustle Hard Development, while Alfred Lebogang Sekatane (62) was identified as Edward Sekatane’s uncle. The companies allegedly benefited from Eskom as follows: Phoenix Motion Enterprise: R5,380,646.00 Hustle Hard Development: R2,231,380.00 Itireleng Masheleng: R913,712.00 The total financial loss suffered by Eskom as a result of the fraudulent transactions amounted to R8,525,738.00. The court found Nozipho Ntuli guilty of fraud. Edward George Sekatane, Thulani Harries Mahlalela, Alfred Lebogang Sekatane and their companies, Phoenix Motion Enterprise, Hustle Hard Development and Itireleng Masheleng, were found guilty of offences in terms of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act (POCA) relating to money laundering. The court postponed the matter to 19 October 2026 for sentencing and for the Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU) to pursue an application for a restraint order. The Provincial Head of the Hawks in Mpumalanga, Major General Nico Gerber, welcomed the convictions and commended the investigation team for pursuing the matter to its conclusion.

Today I met with the key stakeholders in the National Fresh Produce Markets environment (in person and online). The dialogue was triggered by the prevailing deterioration of the conditions of certain fresh produce markets and a lack of maintenance. Such issues not only drive farmers and other stakeholders away but also pose food safety risks. In some instances, the deterioration has led to litigation among stakeholders, underscoring the value placed on these markets. In our reflections, above all, stakeholders agreed that the National Fresh Produce Markets remain the “national treasure” in their role in price discovery and in ensuring affordable food supplies for South Africans. Revamping the Fresh Produce Markets will only improve their contribution to society and serve farmers, agents, government, informal traders, and consumers well and efficiently. We deliberated on a range of interventions that are essential to this revitalisation, and all stakeholders will play a collaborative role. In the coming months, we will be working on this process. In essence, this work is part of the government’s Agriculture and Agroprocessing Master Plan, which centres on inclusive growth, job creation and food security. I thank all the stakeholders who participated in the discussion. Their inputs enriched our reflection and planning. We look forward to continuing this essential work.
