Crescent, IA - We saw more busted bins. A farmer took us to his ground roughly a half mile or so from Missouri River. The ground was dried down but flooded AGAIN days ago because of rising water levels from the river. Probably won’t plant there.

North Bend, NE - Visiting Producer a quarter of a mile from the Platte River post flood. Ground is a combination of mud and sand. He’s growing cover crop for forage too. Saying rebuilding fence may be largest challenge yet.

Hamburg, IA - I had no idea the town still looked this bad. There are destroyed buildings, sandbags left, busted bins and standing water. Hard to swallow.

Michigan-based @AgComRelief has been helping farmers & ranchers affected by Mother Nature’s rathe since 2017. This year is no different. The non-profit recently assemble supplies and delivered them to Verdigre. See the story by @MichFarmBureau. youtu.be/KfMlW1puE4s

Spent the weekend trying to help keep the Missouri River in its banks. The @USArmyCorps projected the river to crest yesterday near Waverly, MO. It still hasn’t, and now water is rising to levels higher than this area saw in 1993. The flood story of 2019 is far from over.

What a weekend in Nebraska.
Photos of the recent Midwest flooding show a #farming community just starting to pick up the leftover pieces — just starting to pick up the history that washed away with this record-sized natural disaster.
Sad and devastating. @AgComRelief

This is an excellent article from a good friend and local dairy lady. She, like many others in the dairy business, just want to survive and raise their family in a farm.

An inspiration in the ring. Cole and Pierce Dutton love showing cattle. And they won't let anything stand in the way. Not even Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
