Take this for what it’s worth…
#CropInsurance companies would generally prefer farmers buy lower levels of coverage.
It generates smaller claims and requires bigger losses.
If you want to make the companies nervous - buy everything you can.
And in ‘24 you might need it all.

Most people in the US think of water as cheap, clean, and abundantly available whenever needed.
Although it may appear this way, in reality our water supply is far from guaranteed.
In the past 40 years, nearly half of all wells in the US have declined beyond the rate of recharge, and the same percentage of wells are contaminated with pesticides or pesticide degradates, not to mention many other toxic agrochemicals.
To make matters worse, the country's most depleted wells and aquifers underlie our most agriculturally significant regions, where most of our food comes from.
This is one of the most consequential human and ecosystem health issues, and it's not talked about enough.
The only way forward is to redesign our agriculture system so our food production is rooted in the capture, flow, and responsible use of water.

Sacrificing a national holiday as intrinsic to our social fabric as Thanksgiving has lasting consequences.
If this is what needs to be done, fine.
But everyone should acknowledge that we are driving a spike into a gear of culture. Consequences unknown.

You're busy, I get it. It's time to drill wheat, gear up for harvest, go to ALL of your kid's activities--it's also time to look at your wheat insurance coverage. You aren't planting the same fields this year, the price isn't the same, so why should your coverage be the same?
Wheat sign on prices are out...CO:$4.48 and KS:$4.35. That's quite a bit lower than 2019. It's in YOUR best interest to evaluate your crop insurance coverage every year. Do you have your 2020 wheat crop insurance quotes yet?
