Purdue Extension professionals had the opportunity to connect with Extension colleagues from across the region through the North Central Extension Leadership Development (NELD) program in Washington, D.C. The experience has been a chance to share ideas, learn from others and build relationships with people doing similar work in different communities.

Today marks the 32nd anniversary of the Equity in Educational Land-Grant Status Act of 1994, a pivotal milestone that granted land-grant status to Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs) across the United States.
Through their education, research, and Extension programs, TCUs create pathways to greater career opportunities for American Indian and Alaska Native students, improve health and well-being of their communities, and enhance local food production and sustainability.

Farm stress can affect anyone connected to agriculture, including the next generation of farmers. Purdue Extension Farm Stress Team brought that conversation to the American Dairy Goat Association Conference in Indianapolis, sharing information with youth and adults from across the country.
Today, we celebrate the farmers who keep America growing. Through research, Extension, and education, public and land-grant universities are helping strengthen agriculture and rural communities nationwide: landgrantimpacts.org/feature… #NationalFarmersDay

As National Farm Safety and Health Week comes to a close, we're highlighting one example of Purdue Extension's impact. After a local Indiana fire department reached out for help, Extension educators trained 110 firefighters, first responders and emergency personnel on grain bin rescue and confined-space safety. Preparing for emergencies before they happen can save lives. @AgIsAmerica has more: agisamerica.org/grain-bin-sa…

ALT Several people participate in a grain-bin rescue training exercise inside a trailer filled with corn kernels. Metal rescue panels surround the center of the trailer, with one participant partially buried in the grain while others stand and sit around the enclosure assisting with the demonstration.
"We all need it, even if some don't want to admit it."
Farm transition planning can be difficult, but it's essential. See how land-grant universities are helping families have the tough conversations: landgrantimpacts.org/securin… #NFSHW26
