Scrum is a system integration test to see if it's possible for an organization to deliver value in a Sprint. That test reveals the system's failures, or impediments, that we then must go and fix.

what do I mean when I say "softness"? I mean the sincere care for other knowledge workers while working together on something, allowing them to speak their mind, take the time they need to think and reflect, air their grievances, and be sincerely heard by their peers and leaders.

It's not SAFe's (or any other system's) fault. It's the combination of people who need 'answers' and people who have 'answers.' People (like all living things) take the path of least resistance.
People in very large organizations - especially safety-biased ones - want consultants to take the risk. SAFe comes along with “answers” to all the tough questions from the CFO, business heads, etc… which are presented as SAFe solutions but are just rebranded ways of doing things

The next time you're attending someone else's meeting, respect their facilitation choices.

Maybe it's not the way YOU would do it, but it's not YOUR meeting. Feedback after the session is most welcome.
I'm all for openness but it can be quite annoying when an attendee questions a facilitator's agenda....

If I schedule a break for my attendees, it may not just be for the attendees' sake; I may need to adapt my approach in the next segment for something I learned real time.
