Expanding trade between Uganda and Somalia is a positive step towards regional economic growth.
Today, I welcomed H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia. We discussed matters concerning our two countries, especially the security situation in Somalia.
Somalia will soon receive our value added coffee, which is a step in the right direction. I thank his Excellency Mohamud for this support.

Thank you, @hillarytaylorvi, for standing up for the truth. 👏
my son @mordecaimuriisa, you contradict yourself.
how can you claim muhoozi has “never worked a job in his life” after acknowledging he earns ugx15 million as cdf in the same video? isn’t that a job? he has served in the military since 1999.
magambo wants to earn like the army chief? a donation of ugx100m to tooro kingdom is nothing given ministry of defense takes the lions share of the national budget and i think all those offices have donation budgets, including parliament & state house. magambo should focus on grand corruption not petty donations. we can criticize mk’s brutality and privileges but not facts

Great to see discussions focused on investment and value addition. Uganda has the potential to strengthen its position in the global coffee market.

Uganda-Russia defence cooperation highlights the importance of partnerships in technology transfer, specialised training and equipment maintenance. Developing local expertise will be essential for sustainable progress.
This week, I commissioned military facilities and equipment at Kalama, Entebbe, Kalangalo and Magamaga under our defence cooperation with Russia.
I thank President Putin and the Russian people for this support, including the $53 million mechanised repair facility at Magamaga. We must not only acquire good equipment but also learn to maintain, repair and eventually manufacture it here. I have encouraged our military to embrace science and technology, including AI and automation, to strengthen our defence capabilities.
Our cooperation with Russia should help us build local capacity, protect our sovereignty and strengthen our ability to defend Uganda.
Uganda’s growing population presents enormous opportunities for investment, production and job creation. Attracting European investors in hydropower and infrastructure can help expand our economy, create employment and strengthen development. Strategic tax incentives for eligible manufacturers also encourage local production and economic growth. 🇺🇬
Last night at State House Entebbe, I met European Ambassadors and investors. I was pleased to learn that European investors are increasingly investing in Uganda, particularly in hydropower and other infrastructure projects.
I have always told our European friends that Africa is a huge market because of its rapidly growing population. This is an opportunity we must all take advantage of.
On tax incentives, I explained that our 10 year tax holiday for eligible manufacturers is meant to encourage investment, production and job creation. As our people produce and earn more, Government also collects revenue through consumer spending and income taxes.

I particularly thank the CDF and his commanders for fighting corruption in the army and improving the welfare of our soldiers. I am following the improvements in barracks and pay, but the fight against corruption is especially important because it directly affects the welfare of our men and women in uniform.
To the new officers, remain disciplined, stay close to the people and serve Uganda with honour.
