NFL commissioner Roger Goodell asked about Steve Tisch—forced to divest his shares in the @Giants to his kids amid his involvement in the Epstein Files—being in the draft room, at camp, at these meetings: "I think we're comfortable with him participating as the Giants suggest."

On the agenda at the NFL Fall Meeting this AM: The Pro Bowl. With the elimination of the game, the league is mapping out a celebration for the Pro Bowlers and their families during Super Bowl week in LA, special trading cards, and broadcast and social elements to honor them.

NFLPA statement on @JalenHurts: “The NFLPA is not aware of any NFL investigation into the medical care provided to Jalen Hurts. In fact, the league previously informed the union that it did not plan to review the care he received. Before conclusions are drawn about how this situation was handled, there must be a full investigation into what occurred. Determining the facts is essential to ensuring players receive the highest level of care and protection going forward.”

Sills is impassioned on this topic—"The sacred trust we as physicians have with our patients is very, very special to us."

NFL EVP Troy Vincent says 40% of starters league-wide didn't play in the preseason, and that he believes it contributes to the early-season uptick in penalties, and sloppy quality of play. "I truly believe to be a good tackler, you have to tackle, and not just in practice."

NFL's Dr. Allen Sills: "I will say this, I have tremendous confidence in the Eagles medical staff, and all our medical staffs ... Our first obligation is always, and evermore will be, to the patient. ... There is no doctor who is taking orders from a football person."

One other detail on the Jalen Hurts situation: The @Eagles quarterback was treated at the Cleveland Clinic in London. That arrangement is done for international games by NFL medical czar Dr. Allen Sills, who works on it with his counterpart from the Premier League.

NFL's Peter O'Reilly says the league is considering going to 10 international games, which is the CBA limit, in 2027. He said he doesn't know yet if the NFL will go to a new country next year, but did reference the idea of going to new cities in countries they've been to.

Perhaps the biggest disconnect on the Jalen Hurts situation—the question of sleep. No doctor I’ve talked to has said he or she would recommend not sleeping to someone with a superficial clot. Some went so far as to say that even suggesting that makes no sense.
