Today is a mathematical date we won't see again for 78 years.
10/24/26
10² + 24² = 26²
It's called a Pythagorean Triple Day. There are infinitely many Pythagorean triples, but only 12 dates this century satisfy the equation.Today is the last.
Next one: March 4, 2105.

Who remembered their Roman numerals when watching The Traitors last night? Thankfully @FryRsquared did but even she must have been feeling a bit of stress in that situation😱
Whoever you are it can be tough doing maths on the spot!

Fantastic work from our foundation year 11 students this week, who have just finished their study of all the shape transformations.

Introducing and understanding the index laws with 9 set 4 has been super enjoyable! We finished this area of study with a matching task, which interweaves index laws with the 4 operations with negative numbers. A great discussion was had at the end about the 99th root of 1…. 😅
New display in the maths corridor showing off some fantastic entries in the last 2 years for the @Nat_Numeracy Number Heroes Competition. So inspiring to read how our students use maths in everyday life and the community ⭐️

Today I turn 30 YEARS OLD, which means it’s been 14 YEARS since I was on #EducatingYorkshire. Incredibly, I’m now the SAME AGE Mr Burton was when he changed my life. As I say goodbye to my 20s, I dedicate this post to the life-changing teachers who never gave up on me. Thank you
At AA, we love mathsbox!😅 An excellent site with a wealth of resources suitable for all students.
