Was supposed to go on a golf trip AND go to HHN Hollywood this week and I can’t tell you how unbelievably bummed out I am that I wasn’t able to. Absolutely brutal, but God willing there will be better times ahead.

I am so sad about this. I have a Les Paul cause Chad played a Les Paul. Katie and I met each other cause we both wore NFG shirts to school the same day. So many musicians I looked up to turned out to be dirtbags. But Chad is a hero I'm glad I got to meet. RIP.

On the morning of September 20th, Chad Everett Gilbert passed away peacefully in his sleep. He left this world surrounded by friends and family and took his final breaths with his wife and mother by his side, just as he wished.

Finally got around to watching the Hadestown movie. A lot of interesting choices for capturing a stage musical. Wasn’t a fan of much of what they did. A lot is lost in the extreme close-ups and crowd shots (unnecessary). It was fine, but still disappointing to a degree.

For context, I saw it 3 times on Broadway during its first year running. Wide shots of the entire stage would have worked just fine. Instead, they tried to get (too) creative with their shots and didn’t capture much of what makes the show great.
