A lot of people don't realize that Windows has a built-in feature called Windows "Sandbox" that boots up a brand new virtual Windows machine in seconds. So I made an MCP server so you can test your apps inside a throwaway machine in seconds. github.com/shanselman/sandbo…

A sneaky little update: we’re preparing for the Flipper One Kickstarter and opening pre-orders 👀 r.flipper.net/one
We @dot_discovery have rebuilt the WWF No Mercy engine inside Unreal Engine 5.
The intent here is to combine all the AKI series into a singular engine, for Free and open source on Github when done for non-commercial reasons.
It uses modern solutions for shadows/lighting and internal things like AI behavior, but the AI matches AKI 1:1.
This means that a creator can take a branch and turn this into something with extremely high quality models, but retaining that gameplay style that is beloved.
I just hit record. ☺️

This is something we've been working on as a small side quest.
We've almost rebuilt the SmackDown 2 game in Unreal Engine 5.
This SDReloaded Engine will be released for Free, open source on Github when done for non-commercial reasons, ghouls don't get any ideas.
Support of @dot_discovery continued support is enabling us to do things like this, so thank you. 👊
Obvious things to clean up (aprons etc), but it's cool to see how they rendered the characters off screen and had them appear in through the tron.

Do you remember Lemmings? The Windows release is now over 30 years old... scary stuff!
My wife Vanessa (and I) loved it, so I wanted to make her a version she could play on her laptop, tablet or phone.
I found Thomas Zeugner’s brilliant browser-based project, which hasn’t been updated for over 5 years, and decided to put OpenAI’s new Terra model to work modernising it.
The result is Lemmings TS: installable, playable offline, with touch controls, pinch zoom, fullscreen, saved progress and support for both DOS and now the Windows game files too. The Windows mode uses the original graphics, iconic music and sound effects, with a familiar toolbar and minimap. The source is here - github.com/paulobrien/lemmin…
I’ve added automated tests and verified completion replays for all 120 DOS and 114 Windows levels, plus optional hints and tons of other improvements.
As well as the repo, it's deployed here - lemmingsts.ourbiplane.com/. You’ll need your own licensed game files in the form of a 'Lemmings and Oh No! More Lemmings (Windows)' ISO (my disk has been sitting on the shelf for decades). There’s still some device testing to do, but it’s been fantastic fun, and Terra has been just the right blend of capability and speed. Thanks @thsottiaux for those resets, and for the model of course!

Today is a mathematical date we won't see again for 78 years.
10/24/26
10² + 24² = 26²
It's called a Pythagorean Triple Day. There are infinitely many Pythagorean triples, but only 12 dates this century satisfy the equation.Today is the last.
Next one: March 4, 2105.

This is f**king insane.
I always wondered what that green light under my watch was doing, so I asked Claude to build me one I could take apart.
What it shows:
> Claude Code built the whole watch with the free anatomy skill, 9 parts packed into 10.7 mm.
> Flip it over and the sensor dome holds green LEDs, 4 photodiodes and a ring electrode.
> The LEDs flash hundreds of times a second. Blood soaks up green, every heartbeat dims what comes back and the dips read 72 bpm.
> A finger on the crown closes a loop through your heart for a 30-second ECG.
> The tap on your wrist is a small weight on 2 springs, kicked by a coil.
The system that takes apart anything 👇
This is f**king awesome. Wish I'd had this when I was trying to understand computers.
I decided to test a new Claude skill and asked it to take a Mac mini apart. I wasn't ready for what came back.
What it pulled off:
> Claude Code built the whole Mac mini from one prompt with the free anatomy skill, M4 chip and all.
> You tip it on its side to find the power button Apple hid underneath. One press and the status light comes on with the startup chime.
> Air comes in through the gap around the round foot and leaves out the back, pulled by 1 blower fan.
> The power supply sits inside a 12.7 cm box, so there's no brick on the cable.
Full build and a playground in the article 👇

30 years ago my game The Adventures of Lomax for the PS1 was release this day the 22th of October 1996 in the US. Great memories developing this with just 2 team members. Me doing all the artwork, game-design and world editing. Erwin Kloibhofer coding the game and editor. Time flies!
