The minimum UKRI PhD stipend is Β£16,062 for 2022/23.
Although PhDs are training and do not legally require minimum wage, a comparison is worthwhile:
National minimum wage (age 21-23) is Β£19,094 (40h/week).
After tax that's Β£16,836.
Living wage is Β£19,760 (Β£17,280 after tax).
