You never realize when you're living it, what a time it was to be alive. And seeing Fugazi twice in the 90s really was something.

I saw this in the theater 30 years ago and was blown away. It still holds up. The editing, set design, costuming, dp, direction, everything is so impeccable. The way Shakespeare's words were interpreted into this visual masterpiece is something that hasn't been done since.

If you've never watched A Chorus Line - the first 20 minutes is masterful in execution. So many moving pieces at the start, then widdled down to what's needed for the story. The entire film is in service of the intial want. It's perfect. youtu.be/fA_FPLxJLtE?si=9wly…

This Kazakh story is from 13th-14th century. It was passed down orally. It is essentially a very similar story to Romeo and Juliette. It makes me wonder if Shakespeare had heard some version of this before he wrote his own. – at Westminster, CA
