My comments in @AJEnglish on the US midterms, and what it tells us about the future of money in US politics.
I argue that the election results increasingly make a case that money has marginal returns in the campaigns. More millions won't translate into more wins, as we are noticing it now.
Factors like public alignment, ground mobilization, and charismatic politics are still the most powerful political tools.

Today I’m remembering the thousands of Sikhs who were murdered and displaced by the Indian state during the November 1984 Sikh Genocide.
The impact of that violence continues to be felt decades later by survivors and families still waiting for justice. Today, this is exacerbated by India’s transnational repression, including the murder of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil and death threats to over a dozen Canadians, including former NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh.
Our party will continue to recognize this painful episode for what it is: a genocide. And we will continue to call for a full investigation to honour those lost and bring justice to their families.

Mark Levin is crashing out over the fact that it was his advice that resulted in a massive regime change in a huge oil-producing government.
It just happened to be Texas, not Iran.
STFU you washed up political loser. You’re angry because you’ll actually have to now work for a living. You’re one of the most mentally unhinged POS to ever be in Congress. We lost last night for many reasons, including because of useless, self-promoting, do-nothings like you. Good riddance, crackpot.

Amit, maybe Israel can murder another 20,000 Palestinian children, launch a few more wars of aggression with its neighbors, & smear anyone who objects with fraudulent charges of antisemitism, and see if that improves your luck with American voters.
The bad news keeps piling up. What happened in America last night is a catastrophe. Take AIPAC’s worst nightmares, double them, and you still don’t get close.
The only consolation is that Abdul El-Sayed won his Senate seat by a smaller margin than expected. Will the Democrats learn that anti-Israel politics and antisemitism cost you votes? I doubt it. And a great many Jews voted for him anyway.
It’s getting worse. First the Democrats blamed Israel for America’s troubles: grocery prices, America’s slipping standing, the war with Iran.
Now, with JD Vance’s tweet and Donald Trump Jr.’s share, the Republicans are blaming Israel for the Republican Party’s troubles. Vance’s message: we stuck too close to Israel.
That is far more dangerous. Israel now faces its biggest challenge in Washington since at least the 1975 “reassessment,” when Ford and Kissinger froze arms deals to pressure Jerusalem.
There’s only one answer I know of: a national unity government. Flirting with a new election, a minority government propped up by the Arab parties, or a deal with the Haredim would be a grave mistake.

This high blood pressure is not normal, it is the direct result of this isolation.
If he is not freed soon he will die in this cell.
And Munir will be the killer.
Statement from Rubina Khan, sister of @ImranKhanPTI , 3 Nov 2026:
– On 2 Nov his lawyer was allowed a brief meeting at Adiala Jail, the first in 7 months.
– Khan reports his blood pressure spiked to 192. He never had high BP, and it was normal a year ago. The family's medical advisors say developing it suddenly at 70+ is virtually unheard of.
– He says the problems began only after more than a year of total isolation, and accuses those holding him of trying to kill him by withholding proper treatment.
– The family demands his immediate admission to an independent hospital in Islamabad, with his personal doctor present.
– A Supreme Court order from August 2026 for treatment at Shifa International Hospital has still not been implemented.
– He survived multiple attempts on his life before jail, including being shot several times in the leg, one bullet narrowly missing his femoral artery.
– If anything happens to him now, the family says, it will be cold-blooded murder.

After more than 80 Parliamentarians joined me in writing to the UN to raise serious concerns about the human right violations in Azad Kashmir.
I welcome UN Human Rights Special Rapporteurs now raising serious concerns over the proscription of the JAAC, unlawful killings, arbitrary arrests, excessive force and restrictions on fundamental freedoms.
These are concerns the APPG on Kashmir has been raising for the last five months.
The bloodshed must end, communications restored and peaceful dialogue resumed, with full accountability and the inalienable human rights of Kashmiris at the heart of any resolution.
Most of Musk’s political contributions went to losing midterm candidates, data reveals
"A majority of Elon Musk’s financial contributions in Tuesday’s midterms went to losing political candidates, according to data analysed by the US-based CNBC network.
It shows that Musk spent $212m of his total $474m towards Ken Paxton’s failed campaign for the US Senate in Texas.
In all, Musk gave a total of $289m or 61 percent of his total spend to losing candidates or causes on November 3.
The results might mark a turning point for the outsized role political contributions play in US politics, says Hussain Nadim, a lecturer on public policy at George Washington University in Washington, DC.
“The [midterm] results have put to test this long-held belief that American democracy is run primarily by donor money, PACs [Political Action Committees], and Tech billionaires,” Nadim tells Al Jazeera.
He says that “public sentiment, policy alignment, and on-ground mobilisation” are still the most powerful democratic tools, despite hundreds of millions spent on political campaigns by donors such as Elon Musk and Miriam Adelson.
After a certain dollar amount, “money has marginal returns”, in that it has “no increased traction in electoral outcomes”, as the midterm results show."

AIPAC congratulates the hundreds of pro-Israel Democrats and Republicans who won their elections last night. More than 234 candidates supported by AIPAC members have already won, with many additional races still too close to call. We congratulate Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer and House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries on the resounding victories for their caucuses.
AIPAC members are determined to expand their political activism in the cycles ahead. Our community will increase its support for Democrats and Republicans who recognize that a strong partnership with Israel helps keep both countries secure, advances peace and stability, promotes democratic values, and grows our economy through trade and innovation.
Troubling reports coming from sources in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, of an “impending security operation against activists and protesters in Rawalakot”.
“Security forces are entering the vicinity of the months-long sit-in being staged by activists of the Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee”, said an activist, who was able to get cellular service after leaving the area.
He spoke of “a significant increase in the movement and deployment of security personnel”, adding that there are fears an operation against the unarmed protesters is “imminent”.
At least 90 activists have been killed by security forces in violent protesters over the past 3 months demanding political and economic rights in the Pakistan-controlled half of the disputed territory.
Many protest leaders have been detained and remain under arrest.

Here’s what we need to deliver:
✅ No new funding for the war in Iran
✅ $25 an hour minimum wage
✅ Medicare for All
✅ Zero aid to Israel, stop military sales

When you listen to James Talarico, you realize that last night's results were not just a rejection of Trump and Israel's Iran war, but also a rejection of a Democratic Party led by people like Biden, Blinken, and Sullivan:
"I've never taken money from AIPAC, and I'm not taking money from AIPAC in this campaign. Seeing what's happening in Gaza makes me sick to my stomach as a teacher, as a Christian, as a human being"
This is his message, and he won in Texas!

No matter what happens next, once thing is clear, and will not change: it is not going to be possible anymore to criminalize anti-Zionism in the US, and being anti-Israel will be the mainstream stance throughout society. Netanyahu and his band of psycho-fascists poisoned and killed the brand forever. I promised them (and myself. and you) that over 2.5 years ago.
The reckoning is only at the very early beginning: it is going to define the political consciousness of generations. It will be enormous. It will be everywhere, and engulf and consume everything. It will be the culture.
In January 24 I said that genocide would not be normalized. And it will never be. I was right. Israel lost.

Because they want to whip up anti-Muslim terror among their readership.
Just a disgusting little racist rag!

You really couldn’t wait a day, Neera, before trivializing the historic win of the first Muslim senator in US history, who overcame tens of millions in AIPAC spending AND a major betrayal by your friend & preferred candidate who endorsed Trump’s guy against him last minute?
