The term “witch hunt” is overused in politics. Perhaps not this time. Quite a bit of the British media should ask themselves some serious questions as to whether the tenor and volume of the coverage they gave to this man was remotely proportionate. Likewise there are questions for Cambridge- and whether they discharged their duty of care.
JASON ARDAY has been found dead. Arday was found “unresponsive” at an address in Battersea on Friday afternoon. He was later pronounced dead. A spokesman for the Met said officers were called by the London Ambulance Service at 3.12 p.m. “Sadly, a 41-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by officers. At this time his death is being treated as unexpected, but is not believed to be suspicious. The case is being investigated by officers from the Met’s Central South Command Unit. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”

A powerful message from a powerful athlete, living with the unimaginable. Archie Goodburn finished seventh in the Men’s 50m Breaststroke final at Glasgow 2026, two years after being told he has incurable brain cancer.

Sport teaches us how to deal with wins and losses, successes and failures. This is gold ⬇️ 🌟
We have much to learn from children. Two victories: she won the match and she won when she transformed her opponent's sadness into a smile.

I thoroughly enjoyed doing these oral history interviews with Jim Wallace and was very sad to hear the news of his death.
We are very sad to hear that Jim Wallace, Liberal MP & MSP from 1983-2007, and Deputy First Minister of Scotland from 1999-2005, has passed away. In 2022-25, Lord Wallace participated in our #OralHistory project, contributing over 5 hours of reflections on his life and career.
