Wonderful slide from #EAACI2019 depicting the complexity of #allergy diseases. Important to understand that genetics alone don't explain it, nor do individual decisions parents/individuals make - there's more at play. This info helpful to combat the "Is it my fault?" Q many ask!
Genetics alone does not explain the phenotype of disease. This is a combination of genetics with environment, biodiversity, and of course the microbiome #EAAC12019

One mom shares her family's approach to life w/#foodallergies in this @AllergicLiving article. "With a positive approach, our allergic child does not miss out. In fact, she’s even taking part in the science." What are your thoughts/how do you approach it? allergicliving.com/2018/04/2…

The bravest among us, best advocates are those who have lost someone to #anaphylaxis- when they stand up & make a difference for all those who have #foodallergies & those who do not yet know we owe them a debt of gratitude -Kudos to @gg521 @Elijahsecho via @AllergicLiving

You want to be normal like everybody else. You want to be able to walk into a restaurant and say, “I’d like to order this.” You think you’re already being really careful, but you can never be too careful. - @JessicaVosk in @AllergicLiving #foodallergy allergicliving.com/2018/12/0…

FYI, this is what #allergy scratch testing with some positive results looks like -- on my own arm. The very large wheals are to sesame and peanut. The slightly smaller ones in the middle are individual tree nuts. The two small bumps at the bottom near my elbow are the controls.

Wonder why we argue for consistent airline policies on #foodallergies? See this thread. 👇
IMHO: IT IS a very slippery slope when in order to get someone to comply with a #nutallergy announcement you have to prove you are allergic by showing medications-glad he complied but still... what are your thoughts?

There is zero credible evidence that #vaccines cause #foodallergy or allergies to develop. Period. Non-credible sources exist, but they are: -Deliberately lying -Endorsing conspiracy -Demonstrating low science literacy This harmful misinformation must stop. #MondayMotivation
