Before integrating an AI API, check more than the advertised model capabilities.
Look at rate limits, latency, error handling, data policies, pricing and version changes.
A successful prototype proves that something can work. A dependable integration needs a plan for operating it.

An API is one way software systems communicate.
For AI applications, APIs can connect a model to a website, internal database, business process or another service.
The interesting part is not the connection itself. It’s the useful workflow that connection makes possible.

When testing an AI product, I would use a task I already understand.
That makes it easier to judge whether the output is correct, useful and worth the cost.
If you cannot evaluate the result, it’s difficult to know whether the tool is actually helping.

If you could automate one part of running a small business, what would it be?
Lead follow-up, customer support, invoicing, reporting, scheduling or something else?
I’d start with a workflow where mistakes can be detected before they become expensive.

If an AI workflow fails, don’t immediately replace the model.
Check the inputs, instructions, tools, permissions and evaluation process.
Sometimes the model is the problem. Sometimes the surrounding system is.
Good debugging begins with evidence.

Not every AI use case needs an agent.
For document classification, a simpler model or deterministic rules may be enough.
For multi-step research, tool use and adaptive decisions may justify an agent.
Match the architecture to the complexity of the problem.

A useful way to prioritize automation ideas is to compare frequency, time spent, error cost and implementation difficulty.
A task that happens every day and takes an hour may deserve attention before a complicated task that happens once a month.
Start where the potential benefit is clear.

Using Claude in the US is the tutorial level 🎮
Open laptop, type, done
Devs in China have to clear a whole chain of side quests before they can even use it
So when someone over there tells me they're on it every day and it never cuts out
They're not a user, they're a speedrunner 🏆

🌴Good Morning My Family🌞
Can i get GN guys?
an AI agent can search the web for a warehouse all day. what it can't do is walk inside and actually map it
@vangrid_io is now connecting AI tools like Claude and Cursor to its spatial data network. an agent can search existing captures, or request a brand new 3D model of a specific place, and a real person goes there to do the physical capture
so the agent handles the thinking and a human handles the walking
I think this is one of the more practical ways to connect AI software to the real world

spotted a rare 2003 software engineer in the wild
got hired for knowing how to unzip a file
director now
eight figure net worth, lake house, never even had to sweat a layoff round
thinks ai is a fun little tool
my parents met guys like him at a bbq in 2009 and that's why i'm debugging at 5am on a sunday 🦖
