Thanks to everyone in today's #altedchat! I'm off for now and look forward to next week. :)
A3: I think empathy starts before the S has a problem. In my experience, Ss are more willing to open up if YOU have earned THEIR trust. #altedchat
A2: I've seen this in gender identification situations where the parent chooses a version of planA that does not totally embrace their student or their choices. In my experiences, Ss benefit the most when everyone listens to the student's concerns. #altedchat
I noticed many said empathy and I read that in the book as well and was wondering if empathy comes before or at the same times as identification? #altedchat
A1: I felt like the authro of #lostatschool has been screaming at me identify identify identify since I've opened this book. I love that approach becasue one has to know where they are going before they can get there. #altedchat
#altedchat folks thanks for having me and thanks to @PrincipalCates for pointing this group out to me. So many helpful thoughts. Thank you all. See you next week. #LostatSchool
My favorite quote from #LostatSchool was from CH.2 "Pills don't teach skills" Ss don't just have good days because they took their meds. #altedchat
The credit recovery process can't begin until Ts and supporting staff focus on the Ss as a human and not a number. #altedchat
