DDN and NVIDIA are collaborating to advance GPU-initiated data access for next-generation AI π€
The companies are working together to create a faster, more efficient connection between NVIDIA accelerated computing and the DDN Infinia data intelligence platform. By enabling GPUs to access the data they need more directly, the collaboration is designed to reduce delays, keep valuable computing resources productive, and accelerate the delivery of AI-driven outcomes.
βAI success will increasingly be measured not by how much infrastructure an organization owns, but by how productively it uses that infrastructure,β said Sven Oehme, Chief Technology Officer at DDN.
βOur work with NVIDIA is focused on helping customers keep their GPUs working, accelerate time to insight, and improve the economics of AI at scale. By reducing the friction between compute and data, we can help organizations generate greater value from every accelerator, watt, and dollar invested.β

Idle GPUs do more than hurt ROI. They slow down scientific progress.
During his keynote at the DDN AI Data Summit, Alex Bouzari, CEO and Co-Founder of DDN, explained why maximizing GPU utilization is critical for both enterprise economics and high-performance computing. DDN helps organizations optimize AI Infrastructure so researchers can run more complex simulations, accelerate discovery, and get more value from every GPU.

DDN is proud to collaborate with @nvidia in support of the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS).
AI is rapidly becoming a strategic capability for defense organizations, transforming how military leaders plan missions, respond to disasters, model complex ocean environments, and advance autonomous maritime systems.
At NPS, students and faculty are applying AI through hands-on research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and real-world experimentation to address critical challenges facing the U.S. Navy and Joint Force.
This collaboration brings together:
πΉ NVIDIA accelerated computing and AI software for advanced model development, simulation, and decision support
πΉ DDN AI Infrastructure to help researchers securely access, manage, protect, and scale the data behind every AI application
πΉ NPS research and operational expertise to turn academic innovation into real-world impact
Together, NVIDIA and DDN provide complementary technologies that allow organizations like NPS to focus on innovation rather than infrastructure complexity.

The most expensive thing in AI? Forgetting. π§
Every time a user steps away from a long AI session β a 100-page contract analysis, a multimodal deep dive β that hard-won context gets evicted from GPU memory. When they return, the model doesn't just reload. It recalculates. Every logical relationship. From scratch.
Google Cloud Managed Lustre, powered by DDN EXAScaler, fixes this.
Rather than evicting the KV cache, Managed Lustre captures the brain state of the conversation and persists it to storage. When the user returns, the GPU doesn't rethink β it just loads. Sub-second response. Zero wasted compute.
At fleet scale, the impact is staggering. Standard architectures leave up to half your GPUs burning cycles on redundant math. With Managed Lustre, that waste disappears β every active GPU is doing productive work, slashing inference total cost of ownership by up to 50%.
The customers already running on it are seeing it clearly:
β Salesforce Research cut AI training costs by 42% and achieved 70% higher GPU utilization
β Resemble AI achieved 100% GPU utilization and called Managed Lustre 6x faster than every other storage solution they evaluated
β Google customers are seeing up to 95% TPU utilization and ~25% cost savings at scale β roughly $25M saved for every $100M in infrastructure spend
This is what it looks like when storage stops being the bottleneck.

From ISC25 to ISC26 β a lot has changed. β©
HPC built the foundation. AI builds what's next. DDN connects the dots.
Last year, the conversations on the show floor confirmed what we already knew β the organizations pushing the boundaries of discovery aren't waiting on compute. They're waiting on data. DDN is built to fix that.
This June, come find us at booth #C31 during ISC High Performance 2026 and see how the world's most demanding HPC and AI workloads are eliminating data bottlenecks, maximizing GPU utilization, and moving from experimentation to production β faster and at scale.
