Since 2015, the EU has supported nearly 13,000 journalists at risk worldwide through ProtectDefenders.EU.
On the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists, we call on all States to protect journalists and ensure accountability.

At today's event organised by @IDSCS_Skopje & @kas_mkd Ambassador Rokas highlighted the importance of strengthening regional ties & building lasting partnerships. πͺπΊ will continue investing in π²π° key road & rail links along Corridors VIII & X, + in energy & digital connectivity.
Ambassador Rokas at todayβs parliamentary debate on strengthening the Ombudsman Office in π²π°: "An effective protection of human rights & dignity depends on strong, independent institutions". He called on all stakeholders to use the dialogue to ensure an efficient Ombudsman Office
At todayβs event on hospital management appointments, πͺπΊ Ambassador Rokas stressed that senior positions must be filled based on merit, transparency, competence and experience to ensure institutions can deliver high-quality services.

EU accession & economic convergence go hand in hand. North Macedonia made important progress, including on digitalization & private sector development, with over β¬140 mil paid for reforms achieved under the Reform Agenda. Further reforms progress will bring more benefit.
