Tuesday night broke something in me. This is the country I grew up in. The country I fought for. The country my brothers died for. And right now it doesn't feel like mine anymore.

Nonfarm employment rose from roughly 8 million to over 14 million. Nominal GDP increased from about $508 billion in 1995 to nearly $2.93 trillion in 2025. From 2000-2025 alone, GDP nearly quadrupled (291% growth) and Texas raised its share of U.S. GDP from 7.2% to 9.4%—the largest gain of any state—while often outpacing national job and output growth through multiple cycles.
