For the first time, we're hearing about previously undisclosed connections between Palantir and some of America's biggest health insurers: Aetna, Humana, Cigna and Blue Shield of California.
A new report from the Center for Health & Democracy Education Fund examines documents obtained by the Electronic Frontier Foundation that claim Palantir's technology is already being used by insurers for functions including "decision support."

Here is what I see happening in terms of likelihood. I believe Netanyahu will launch a massive war in Iran in a few days while negotiations for a coalition are underway. That will lead to one of these outcomes:
1) Netanyahu runs the war as caretaker PM, no government forms, and any repeat election slips: 35% chance. A caretaker government can legally wage war, and coalition talks stall when the country is under missile fire. Netanyahu doesn’t have to win anything. He only has to keep the clock running.
2) An emergency unity government with Netanyahu “for the duration of the war”: 25% chance. The model is Gantz in 2020, who broke his “no Netanyahu” pledge and joined a COVID emergency government. Eisenkot was a war-cabinet observer in 2023 and frames everything in terms of national security.
3) It backfires, Likud drops Netanyahu, and a unity government forms without him: 15% chance. The security chiefs are already leaking that Netanyahu pushed for pre-election escalation. If a war starts and Zamir’s side leaks again, the manipulation charge becomes the story. That gives Likud MKs a reason to drop him in exchange for staying in power.
4) Netanyahu forms a right-wing government with defectors: 12% chance. War rhetoric helps him peel off one or two MKs, but the gap from 50 is still too wide.
5) An Eisenkot minority government backed by Ra’am: 10% chance. Depending on Arab parties during a war with Iran is the attack Netanyahu would most want to make. It also hardens Liberman and Bennett against the option.
6) The Haredim cross over to Eisenkot: 3% chance. Wartime pressure on the draft makes a deal on exemptions even less likely.
The upshot of this is that it is about a 70% chance that Netanyahu remains in power, weakened and battered and temporary, but more dangerous than ever as a result.

I believe the cost of elder and end of life care will be a defining political issue of the 2030s. Candidates looking to run in 2028 would be wise to have a plan for this before it bankrupts millions of families more than it already has. I will never forget having to do the math of how much longer my family could afford keep my father cared for as Parkinson’s took him. I know far too many people who have had to make that same calculation.

NEW: Angie Nixon is running for Senate on a huge bet: Medicare for All can win over Trump voters in Florida.
To put that theory to the test, we brought Nixon to one of the unhealthiest counties in Florida — where 1 in 5 lives in poverty, thousands are uninsured, and doctors are few and far between.

Esta é a foto que está estampando a vitória de Lula nos principais jornais do mundo (vi no The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian e no The Times).

Incredible. First @SecMullinDHS claimed that @DHSgov identified 15,903 noncitizens on Nevada’s voter roll. Then DHS officials said, no no no, that’s just people we flagged, here’s the names of 185 people we KNOW aren’t citizens.
All 185 were citizens. DHS got 100% wrong.

Government has to adjust to the fact that it's just a matter of time before AI agents start making FOIL requests, filing legal claims, applying for permits and benefits, submitting job applications, reporting fraud allegations, asking questions to 311, or making 911 calls.
Our government processes were built around an assumption we have barely thought about: that every request, application, complaint, and claim requires a human being to spend time creating it. AI will erase that constraint.
NYC simply does not have systems capable of dealing with what could be the resulting exponential increase in the volume of incoming. The time to fix that is now.
I wrote about this and other challenges AI is posing for NYC, and what we need to do about it. Link in reply.
