Our New Caledonia project in Caledonia, Mississippi, is bringing six gas turbines to life, adding approximately 500 megawatts of power to the grid.
Just how big is this project?
Take a look at the numbers:
🔹 60,000 feet of pipe
🔹 850,000 feet of cable
🔹 50,000 electrical terminations
🔹 15,000 cubic yards of concrete
🔹 300 tons of structural steel
🔹 816,000 craft hours
When it's complete in 2028, this project will help power about 250,000 homes!

We’re working with the State of Tennessee and the United Kingdom to strengthen collaboration and help accelerate the commercial deployment of fusion energy, with a focus on strengthening supply chains, developing the workforce and supporting effective regulation.
The collaboration builds on fusion projects already underway in Tennessee and the United Kingdom, including the Project Infinity in Tennessee and the UK Infinity Fusion Consortium. Together, these efforts connect expertise from TVA, Type One Energy, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Tokamak Energy, the UK Atomic Energy Authority and partners across the fusion supply chain.
By working together, we’re helping create the conditions to bring commercial fusion online while supporting new workforce and economic opportunities in the Tennessee Valley.

Today, the TVA Board approved actions to protect consumers, ensure long-term reliability and continue meeting the Tennessee Valley’s growing demand for electricity.
We've created a new rate for data centers to protect consumers and keep energy affordable amid rising demand. New large power users will pay costs associated with their energy and infrastructure needs. We are one of the first utilities in the nation to take this step to protect families and small businesses.
The Board also approved the 2026 Integrated Resource Plan and our FY27 budget.
